**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 6:22 pm

Tools needed:-

Philips screw driver
Torch
Wiper stork from a 2001 up Mazda Tribute, MPV, Mazda6 or 626 Euro model NOT U.S

Estimated time to fit is 5 - 10 mins.

Remove the 3 philips screws from under the steering wheel cowling,
you might find it easyer to find the screws with the torch.

Put the screws in a safe place....

Seperate the cowling. This is alittle hard, I used the screwdriver for this, by placing it just above the wiper stork and hitting the handle with my palm....

Remove the two plastic covers to reveal the switch...

Under the wiper switch there is a white connecting plug, Unplug it

Slide the stork out of the cowling..

Slide the New veri-speed stork in its place into the cowling..

Plug in the white plug and test the new stork..... Does it work?? Yes Great!!
Screw back the two small gold screws.

Put the two plastic covers back and screw back the three screws from underneth the cowling..

You have just fitted youself a great little Mod :thumbright:

Nah, can't be arssed.

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 8:10 pm

Nice one Neil, did you just bite the bullet and buy a new stalk?

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 8:14 pm

No, I found it on ebay.U.s It was £34ish derlivered. But knowing what fits I imagine there more chance of finding on at the scrappys. I just don't have the time to search them.
I have also noticed that corksport sells them BUT they are listed as sedan only, I'm sure the sedan and wagon have the same switches

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:06 pm

The sedan doesn't have a rear wiper mate.

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:07 pm

I really should have PM'ed that, could get a bit embarrassing for ya..... :laughing6:

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:10 pm

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:16 pm

Arrrr I understand ya now :thumbright:

did't even cross my tiny mind..
anyway rear wiper adds weight and they are gay :evil4:

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:20 pm

Not if you've got a trendy Italian one, mine is lighter than a gnat's pube!!! :thumbleft:

**Posted:** Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:35 pm

absolutely great work there errnee.

I would never have thought it would be simply "plug 'n' play"

It's something that bugs me, I mean, come on Mazda, I had vari speed wipers on my K plate BG for f&*%s sake!!!

I guess the sedan one won't work then, looks like I need a 6 wiper control and wagon rear wiper...

Unbelieveable... so I can get a variable speed switch from a Mazda 6 hatchback and just plug and play?
Why didn't they just fit them in the first place? Silly Billys!

**Posted:** Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:50 am

Yeh, I think every bloody Mazda got one except ours!!!
Even my 1991 BG had one!!!

Yeah there was one in my MX-3 too, it's strange how much you miss it really!

**Posted:** Fri Mar 21, 2008 10:33 pm

Jolly good show ole chaps..............OK, I'm sorry. J/K. Got mine from a 03 MPV (van) Same stuff. Yes, why didn't it have it to begin with? Just dunno.

**Posted:** Thu May 08, 2008 3:11 pm

Just fitted one as bought off errnee. Easy peesey to fit. Just one thing the top steering cover is a push on fit while the lower one is held on by the 3 screws. Apart from that plug 'n' play.

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:28 pm

got one from a 2007 mazda 6 today fit it but it don seem to change the speed of the wipe. everything else work except that. is the something else i needed to do?

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:43 pm

Dunno if you've misunderstood Terro, ( or maybe I've misunderstood what your saying...) but it only changes the intermittent-ness of the intermittent wiper. I think it adjusts in 2 second increments.
It doesn't actually change the speed of the wipe.

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:51 pm

this what i meant when i put it on intermittent and then change the speed the speed of the wipe dont change

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 7:02 pm

Hmmm.... sounds like its broken them mate. :dontknow:

In fact, when I think about it weren't some later ones computer controlled?
I'm sure someone has mentioned this before.......

Errnee? :dontknow:

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 7:06 pm

i did thought about the computer controle myself. cheers mate guess i will have to look for another.

**Posted:** Wed Sep 03, 2008 9:04 pm

Yep, Ive heard this too, But didnt think to post it as I thought the later wiper storks would be hard to find :dontknow:

**Posted:** Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:47 pm

Mine fitted like a glove wee Neil, but I then took it off and fitted it to the car, where it was also fine. :thumbleft:
