Look away if you love BAs - it's time to dismantle the Estoril. (Updated Sept 2022)

FREE BITS
Most of the interior plastics are available (black) except a couple of busted bits and the door kick plates
The bus-seat (post Ford) interior is in bad condition but if anyone wants it, come and take it away
All the floor carpet (black) - rough but free
Four road wheels with illegal tyres, could be used for pushing a car around off road
(Yes these are the wheels seen in the photos - do not get excited, they are all knackered)
The entire dashboard, except the console (so not the speedo etc)
The air-bag sensor device
Rear sub-frame with both brake drums intact
Front cross-member (see last photo) wher rthe bonnet closes

NOT FREE BITS
I bought the car at the point where BAs were give-away cheap, so I'm not out to make masses of money off the bits. If you can make good use of these parts let me know and we can sort something out. I'm thinking:
£10 per front wing (one in perfect condition)
£20 for all locks (doors and tailgate) and steering column (you can replace all locks) inc 2 keys
£10 for the entire sunroof including frame and motor (I never noticed any leaks)
£5 for each door (no door locks, front ones have no glass, no winders, mirrors or badges)
£5 for the boot, with no spoiler, no red logo plate, no top-brake-light, no locks
£20 all-in for the mid and rear exhaust pipes, in really good nick
£5 for radiator assembly
I've left out loads of specific bits so just ask if there's something you're after

Parts that are NOT available:
x Spoiler, rear red bit, lights, mirrors, bumpers (divvied up to other 323f owners)
x NS front strut/brake calliper (unimaginably badly damaged)
x Coil springs, drivers seat belt, kick-plates
x Heater controls
x Floor, including cills and OS rear wheel arch (yes that is how I spell 'sills')
x Wiper motor and linkage
x Engine block - too far gone (rattly and underpowered)
x CAT (they're a dog to find)
x The flutes (gone abroad)

I bought it in the hope of getting it back on the road, but it's too far gone. If you are reading this months after I post it, I will put the spares in dry storage so no harm asking if you need something. I'll edit the post so people will know how much of the car remains available

This was a genuine Estoril so the colour will be the same as every other blue Estoril - 12R Aquarius Blue. Prefer the blue bits to go to another Estoril (or at least same-colour BA), so blue BA owners will get preferential pricing!

I'm in Hemel Hempstead so you'll need to be able to collect stuff from here. I can be very flexible as to days/evenings/weekends and can probably take more pics if you need them.

Hey, I'm interested in the flutes. I'm also interested in the sunroof and headlining. Could you send me a couple pics of those? :)

oooooooooo
It's so tempting to grab loads of BA bits for mine while I can, but sadly I'm running out of space to store them.

... and I probably wouldn't get there before Serena

Well, I don't have a lot of space either, and I already have a tailgate and an entire sunroof system stored in the workshop as well

Toby, what condition is the N/S rear wheel arch? Doesn't look brilliant from here though, so I'm not holding my breath ;) On the original thread it looks like it's at damaged at either end but is it solid everywhere else?

The nearside rear wheel arch is rusty up the first 3-4 inches, then it is sound enough. Also there is a bit of a ding at the back of the N/S rear where the top of the bumper would sit - you can see it in the third from last pic. It could be put straight if someone needed a back-corner.
Same with the front - a bit of a dent on the front N/S wind, just above where the bumber would go, though that one has not gone through the paint.
I'm having a really interesting PM chat with ArtistKS about the possibility of him fitting the sunroof mechanism to his non-sunroof car... he certainly doesn't mind a challenge!

OK, that might work. I'm thinking of the rear arches on Andy's V6. He says the damaged part on his N/S arch begins about 4 inches above the black plastic, so if your arch is only bashed up to that point, and becomes sound after that, maybe he can get a good patch panel off it.

Could I trouble you for a close-up side-on photo that shows precisely where the damage ends, so he can compare it to Minnie's arch? I'll pass it on, then if he thinks it's good where he needs it, maybe you two can talk about you/him getting the metal off at a convenient time before the rest of the body is scrapped.

Oh dear - the N/S rear wheel arch is not going to be any good. I spoke too soon!

Hi smurf the radiator hoses are both serviceable though they are probably original i.e. as old as the car.

I was encouraged that when I drained the cooling system it ran clean and had a good colour, so it had been filled with proper coolant. If you think these hoses are better than what you're currently running, you are welcome to have them both for free (or cover postage). You can collect them if you find yourself near Hemel or I can post them - not sure how much, but you might find a set of brand new hoses would do you better and shouldn't cost too much

hiya, thanks for getting back to me, for what i'm planning, they are great. The plan is to try and find somewhere that could make up a set of silicone hoses so the main thing is dimensions. sadly hemel hempstead is a little bit away from me, im up on the north east coast, so postage is probably going to be the the best(pretty much only) option. If you could get a postage price that would be greatly appreciated. No mad rush though, just whenever is good for you timewise.
Thanks again
Paul

Right - hoses removed, measured and weighed. They will fit in a Royal Mail small parcel. I'll private-message you about arrangements

Hi Adakar yep both rear lights avaialbe in good condition. I'm asking £5 per light cluster, and you are welcome to swing by Hemel Hempstead and collect them if you are nearby. Plenty of other bits too!

Hey mate, is this still breaking? I need the front windscreen trim pieces, and a few little door lock clips...

Hi yep still got much of the car. I reckon I can find the trim that goes around the windscreen. I think that trim carries on all the way along the top too! And probably the door lock clips will be here too. If you're near Hemel pop over or else I can bring bits to one of the summer car shows. I'll be at Luton Festival of Transport on June 12th. For the trim bits I'd be happy for you to just have them. Lets talk about the door lock clips

Is the passenger wing mirror available? If so is it electric?

Hi Mate - sorry the Estoril didn't make it :(
However, I desperately need a front right headlight - I must have collected a stone or something and completely shattered the glass. The twist - if you have one, I need it posted to Johannesburg, South Africa ! Mine has the Bosch headlight, but if it isn't, I can always swap the lens ...
I can pay via PayPal if there's any chance ;)
Regards,
Andrew Smotter

It's been great to meet other 323f owners and pass along bits. Glad to see the Estoril badges being used on an Estoril! I've updated the original post about whats available and moved some bits to my 'free' list

Hi Toby, just wondering if you still have the alternator, and if you do, any issues with it at all?
Thanks

Hi Rumpel I'm sorry, the whole of the red back-panel was snapped up quickly! But I know Marcin (here in the UK) is going to replace a cracked rear panel with a good one, so he might be able to sell you the broken panel (with working reversing light). You can find Marcin on the 323f V6 Whatsapp group (I don't think here's on this forum). Cheers
