Well I live in Bangkok (heavy traffic) and this gives me around 4.5KM per liter fuel mileage with regular traffic (on E20).
And I have a Lancer CS3 (another shitbox), so I try to drive each car every other week.
To make matters worse, my apartment doesn't let me park 2 cars in the car park, so I park 1 car at my place and the other at my boss's place. So it's not super easy to switch.
I'll upload some more pics soon.

Mods - Still the same as my original post + just retrofitted a A/C from a 2015 Toyota Camry as my stock a/c compressor cuts off on high revs and doesn't come back up for a long time.

Aren't the Toda 264 cams for track cars? Isn't the ride a bit rough for street use?

I'm looking for a camshaft set for my future Astina (323F here in Europe), but I want something which increases power without increasing fuel consumption too much.

Going from 7-8 liters to 20 liters every 100 Km. wouldn't make sense for me.

I really love the style of your car. Is the wing original?

How did you adapted the RX-8 seats in the car? Did it required to drill new holes?

- 264 is not crazy aggressive. I can drive it in Bangkok traffic with not much trouble. But my tuner (a HKS trained tuner from Japan) spent around 2 weeks for road tuning (cold idle / warm idle / etc) especially due to the ITBs and due to the idle control valve delete and spent another couple of hours at dyno.

- These BP engines make power at high revs, so it won't be easy to get more power while saving fuel. I could be wrong though. Maybe stock low comp pistons & stock cams with a small turbo will do the trick.

- I drive this car 1 or 2 weeks per month and I drive my lancer otherwise. So I don't mind the bad fuel efficiency. Also, 20 liters every 100 Km is while using E20. E20 is pretty cheap in Thailand.

- Yes, it was sold as a part of the Mazdaspeed package in the 90s. It does reduce visibility a lil bit but it looks quirky and I like quirky

- Yes, It was a real pain to adapt them and we made custom brackets for it but we did use the original holes. It wasn't fun but for sure worth the effort as the stock seats smelled so bad in my case (previous owner parked it outside for months without driving). Wiring the electric seat was pretty simple though.
