Love how the wheels stand on that body color
Are you seriously thinking of using that aftermarket bumper? :S
It looks perfect like this

Thought I would add in a quick update with what ive been upto, mainly styling mods, but mods none the less.... :D

finally managed to get some gold club stickers made up, keeping with the theme and all that

Image
although they don't look it, they are actually straight

also got the front tow strap and eyebrows fitted, along with tinting the front sidelight/indicators

Image

also added a new brace, C pillar brace for even more rigidity, car feels awesome now during turns, as well as looking cool as f*** 8)

Image

got some MS mini cushions from my daughters for Christmas, go nicely with the seatbelt straps too

Image

so the overall view from the front is looking pretty good now, in my opinion at least.

as from next week the maintenance kicks in. Payday after Christmas will have arrived so I will be on with

new brake discs and pads
new drop links all round
front ball joints(lower)
rear arches to sort out

I have most of the bits all stashed away in the garage to be honest, its just getting the time, also have a new offside CV boot to fit, one job I really don't like

Beautiful, Paul! :D

When will we see you at a show?! I want to see this girl ;)

(Although my own attendance at shows this year is not looking rosy ... :? )

cheers Ayrton, Serena.

she is getting there, currently has a sticky front caliper so off to the garage on Friday to get that and a few other bits sorted out, then picking up something, dropping off something, finishing off something(apologies sir, all will be sorted) and then having a generally crazy busy time as i've been asked to showcase the car for a mates youtube channel......hell.

as mentioned the car was in for repairs at a local garage, and what a garage, the guy actually builds race and drag cars and there was some awesome stuff there, now when I say awesome I mean a helicopter engine sat waiting to go into a sleeper body.....
but anyway, the o/s/f brake caliper had changed from a natty shade of red to burnt paint black, not cool, turns out both sliders and the piston had seized solid.
Both calipers were fully refurbed and new disks and pads all round, plus a new cv boot fitted

Image

and yes, it is a cossie, and it was mint :D

the day wasn't finished, popped through to pick a new set of wheels found for a stupid low price on fb marketplace....

Image a set of BBS rs, reps, but decent reps at that. These are a set of 16's, as much as I love the 17's, with the suspension and handling upgrades I've made the ride is just too harsh  , so an extra bit of sidewall height will do just nicely

after a good clean(and with the help of daylight

Image

they will require a refurb, basically the orange bits will be going gold, im liking the grey/gold theme going on, and a set off polished bbs's with gold inserts cant be beat lol

and then because I was bored I stood them up against the side of the car

Image

DAMN, they look good in orange.....but i'm still going for gold(now try saying that without singing the theme tune in your head lol)

Great to see you've managed to repair the brake(as it's dangerous to drive like that)
A friend of mine caught on fire on the motorway and the car burned till the fire truck could come. He's, Ok!
Stuck callipers are no joke!
And i'm not a big fan of the BBS wheels, but if they float your boat i'll say they will look good on the car non the less than the 17's.
Are you going to paint the front lip and sideskirts grey, or you will leave them black?
I see that the rear spats are grey, so that's why i wonder!
Hope everything is good to you!
Cheers!

Yes Indeed Todor, the plan is to keep the skirts and front lip black, but I know what you mean about the rear spats, they may go black......or just maybe not lol.
After buying this from Lee nearly a year ago now, I finally remembered to get it delivered, its on straight, but I need to modify the bumper for it to sit correctly, sounds awesome though 8) 8)

Nice rims but to me, your previous gold wheels look a lot better.

Cheers buddy, just admit I've always wanted a set of BBS's for my BA, saw one a few years ago on this site and was well and truly smitten. These are in desperate need of love but will be going gold also.

As the new title would suggest, sad times indeed. Doing some pre mot checks and one of them was to get underneath and check how the underseal is coping, it's not, in fact the underseal has contributed to the demise of the car.
For m.o.t I will need, inner and outer sills for both sides, rear inner arches, both rear outer arch panels, and about 25mm with of past the sill joint line. Oh and a paint job once all that's done. So I'm looking at minimum of £1200, and that's with a dodgy back street paint job.

Sadly I can't justify paying out that much, living over the road from the sea may sound idyllic, and the views are stunning, but it just kills 25yr old Japanese metal.

I'm gutted, this car is awesome, well, the engine is, and I'm kinda planning on pulling it before it gets scrapped.

All however is not lost, I've found a pretty much rust free pre Ford in Birmingham which subject to inspection (andym you sir deserve a medal),and an mot pass will be coming home with me by the end of the month.

So once again, watch this space.

Agghhh, Paul I'm so sorry - especially after all the work you've done on this one

Hopefully Andy will bring you back a clean bill of health for the possible new one.

As discussed, if you need any parts just let me know :thumbleft:

Also I have space for an F on my drive at the moment (I'm in Wolverhampton), so if the sale goes ahead and for any reason you need to store it in the Midlands for a few days before pickup, you're welcome to have it dropped off at mine :thumbleft:

A top tip would be to apply corrosion protection like fluid film to all cavities and treat the underside with oil/wax based material (after close inspection for preexisting rust).
