Update 08-11-2017

I have made the pre-assembly from the square tubbing. H-shape
With the radical modification I can experiment with this frame and the subframe, to determin where it shoud come.

I will cut more metal from the rear the vertical bit on the rear under the rearligths where the spare tire is original, make some clearance for maybe a diffusor?
I have found a nice topic on a rx7forum about modifying the gearbox, this means that i can push the KLZE more in the car and stil shift in a good way :) yeeahh  means that the weigt is more behind the frontwheels. Downside is the oilsump.. that one has to be modded aswel.

Next steps
 Controlearms and position of the pre-assembly. When that fits i could weld it on place.
 Determin the location of the engine and gearbox. ( i have to modify the RX7 gearbox shifter mechanism )
 Make engine mounts, based on originals (front gearbox )

Please dont look at the mess

The F weight is 400kg now!
If you cut too much you will have big troubles wit putting the power down on the ground..
One friend of mine treated his slicks with glue before runs just to have grip.. :drunken:

Update 16-11-2017

So i have managed to get the lowercontrole arms mounted on the hub and rearsubframe. It looks like they fit, (for now) they will be replaced eventually with pillowball arms.
And as far as i can see, the position of the wheel looks quite good. This wheel doesn't have the rigth specs but it does the job for now.

I have meassured the shiftermechanism from the RX7 gearbox, i'm able to get the shifter back in the original spot of the chasis. Which means that the engine is flush with the bulkhead (firepanel?,dashpanel) 8)

SOOOO next steps,

 Weld the pre-assembly on/in the chassis
 Make engine mounts, based on originals (front gearbox )
 THAN... more cutting in the chassis as i need to make some clearance for the gearbox and engine

MADD skidss are coming sooon :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:

soon he said...

Update 5-12

I have made small progress... i have made a big hole, I am beyond point of no return.
There is some clearance to test fit the test-motor-3 with gearbox.

I have to trim down the flanche between the engine and gearbox. Than i can make some engine mounts

Well… It suck to write this.. big time :|

I was dedicated to work on this project and finish it. It is hard to say for me that this RWD project comes to an end… why? You might ask. It is not that I don’t want too but more that the authorities force me to. I want a driveable BG with RWD with MOT to go to several events and road trips.

The authorities let me work on my car without any problems they hold on to 3 aspects in a vehicle.
1; Engine 2; Chassis 3; Powertrain. You are allowed to change 1 of those 3. Well I have done the engine, that is registered and made my car a V6 2491cc. Then I want to do RWD, should not be a problem, but it is a problem when it comes to selfbuild bits.

The parts you use to change a vehicle must be related to a Dutch homologated vehicle, the engine came from a Millena (my own, no problem I had all the papers do show them ) All the parts that I have collected for the RWD is a different story : RX7, 323GTR, 2x MX5, I don’t have any papers of those vehicles to show them. So those could have been stolen or come from a non-Dutch vehicle. Unidentified. Meaning that is it not sure where the come from (GTR Luxembourg, RX7 japan etc.) SOOO that’s a big no-go. Expect if I buy a complete working MX5, show them this and let them mark the bits than it could work BUT the self-build bits the front assembly is made by myself and therefor unidentified. STILL could work. But the big down side is that:

I have sold my Millenia engine(KLDE) because I had bought a KLZE. This means that I have a different engine-code. This (1)engine in combination with the (3)powertrain swap and the selfbuild parts are 2 of the 3 aspects which the authorities hold on to. I have parts which are not identified. AND if I could show them that the car need to be tested on today’s standards. Then the testing need to be done. If it fails the licence papers of the car (that’s standard in Holland) will be taken and not return. SO I can lose my licence plates on this project. I could not only lose the plates but also the amount of money needed to test the vehicle. (that’s a 4figure note) let alone the cost to make it a RWD.

That’s a big sacrifice for a project on this. So as far as I’m looking now, I think I will pull the plug on this one, I have all the original parts still lying around so that shouldn’t be that hard, but I have to do some extra welding on the body… Not good for the name, but will live with the shame. ;)

Shall i give this one last push?

The BG V6 is no longer among us, the body still waits to be scrapped. Its a pain in the ass to see her go as i had her for 9years. Still doubting iff i could salvage her.. Anyhow i'm currently working on the daily mule to get that one going. Need some restauration... Will be painted, wrapped, and get some nice goodies from the BGV6...

Image
The mule will be a traveller, as it allready visited you guys but also Italy, germany, austria and belgium, it will go on a carbage run next September.

Any thoughts about the V6 BG ? i'm not sure what to do, maybe you guys could help me, inspire me or just give the final push..
