now that's one sick built you have there! O.o I am not a big fan of custom bumpers, a sleeper car would be more my thing, but daman i love what i see here.

Nathan,

Have already decided what diff you will be using? I recently had a small chat with some guys at the tracks and spoke about diffs. They were not happy with the quaife diff's. The deliverance of the power over the two axles is not what you expect from the diff. Still torque-steering as the felt it, a bit nervous on the front wheels and still wheelspin but no go on some moments.

That combined with the experience I have , the MFactory helical diff would be the way to go.

by the way; my G-series, with unmodified casing, gearbox is still holding with this mfactory diff, after another bashing at the tracks (see my topic)

Thanks for the tip barreljan, we will be going with MFactory LSD but I'm looking for information on this new version: Stage 1 Race Pack Upgrade now available. Designed for more aggressive cornering by raising the torque bias from 66% to 75%

The gearbox build is under way

First part has been delivered:

This is the new bearing plate and gear box bracing modification all rolled into one!
Big thank you to Ferdi for sorting this plate out!!

Now we need to get the other parts sorted ASAP,
Doesn't look like it will be finished for Japfest 2 now to be honest but there's still a chance!

Diff should be here by the end of next week

We went for a MFactory LSD with a race pack upgrade which means it has a torque bias of 75% over the usual 66% of a standard MFactory LSD

The PAR gearset should be on its way now too

LSD still isn't here!

Gear set arrived though

Bought 2 g series boxes off Matt yesterday as spares and we can take the best parts off all the boxes and build the best one up

We plugged in the laptop and we had 2 fault codes, air inlet temp sensor and throttle position sensor, checked them and found both plugs were not 'clicked' home. Think it was due to overzealous cleaning the day before, we need to go and drive her in anger again with the laptop plugged in to see if it is solved!

whats the overall plans then nathan? Will the gearbox etc be ready for Japfest next year?

Will the car need to go back to THOR once the gearbox setup is installed for another ECU fettling?

Gearbox will be built over autumn/winter time and will be ready for Japfest hopefully ready before Christmas!!

It won't 'need' another trip to THOR, but we might add a few things to the ECU and possibly engine so it may need it

one question though, where do you got the straight gears from?
i am working on a BG GTX and i would love to replace the stock gears for
straight cut ones. i have seen them on the internet for 3000 and higher.
i hope you have a better adress... :lol:
