to be fair the glare was a bit of a bugger, womble will be having a blue dash eventually, with other bits n bobs white... :D, ive found a colour match blue which is a matte finish so hopefully is shouldn't reflect too much 8)

 that reminds me of one of our Aussie members from a couple of years back, it might actually have been Mike (UNLEASH), painted the dash white, got stopped by the Aussie rozzers and had to remove it before they'd let him continue

To be fair, its a teensy bit sunnier down under ;-)

when the dash was white on the old car i toyed with making a custom dash cover which had some of that non slip stuff on the back which could be put on for driving, then if required could just be lifted off for shows etc, i might resurrect the idea and have a go at making a few if there would be interest.
lets face it the interior of our cars as standard is a bit bland, and the bash is ripe for a bit of rattle can attention,

Must admit I've been toying with the idea of mine in blue :)

Couldn't agree more Paul, dash is a bit plasticky and boring

cheers for the comments guys :D, im getting happier as its coming along.
ayrton, the front end is on hold at the moment, cant get a second hand one for love nor money, well, i can but they are going for around the £120 mark, which is a bit steep for a project which might not work, once ive found one at a decent price it will be full steam ahead.
Hope your trip is going ok too and these winds are not causing to much trouble

due to a mind numbinlgy boring morning i escaped to a new scrappy i found on tinternet, just a regular yard, found a 6 in there and decided i quite liked the gear knob(leather and brushed aluminium), so i then hunted down just a random 'one size fits all' leather gaiter...

Image

slowly getting rid of plasticy/rubbery standard interior parts :D

Still love it Paul, puts a smile on my face every time I drive it :)

I don't drive it hard, furthest I've gone is to 5k  I'm not one who likes to thrash cars
I always let it idle for a minute or 2 from a cold start till she warms up and those pesky HLA's quieten down

Good stuff :D, ive had the dreaded white smoke on start up for the last two weeks... but i popped some wynn's stop leak in with the oil on friday, touch wood ive had no smoke since, and the engine feels a lot smoother and responsive too.
im not mad keen on additives, but this stuff claims to nourish the seals too, i know f's are renown for valve seals leaking and causing the white smoke on start up.

shhhhhhh.....my colour them is blue and white....i just hope ive cured the white :D, im just hoping i havnt goosed the engine with putting an addititve in, ive never been keen on them since i did an engine flush on my old accent, totally killed it, the age old build ups of deposits had self healed most of its leaks, it ended up like a seive after i flushed it :(

Touch wood aside from condensation mine is pretty good

One thing I won't do to a mazda anymore is an engine flush, I did it on my 2nd BA and it was horrendous afterwards, serious blue smoke and a lot noisier

they should just call the stuff engine kill and be done with it....
just been chatting to a guy on a local forum and there is a rent a ramp facility near to me, considering getting the car in to give the womble a good underseal to help protect from rust over the winter slush/gritting period, as all of us in the north east will know the salty sea air doesnt help either, im only 50m away from the sea so the car gets it all year round :(
