Few questions:

1) Does anyone have a good guide for changing brake pads front and back? The only one I can find is on how to change discs and pads.

2) How difficult is it to do? My knowledge is not the best, is it an easy job or should I let some with experience do it?

3) I'm looking at buying some EBC Ultimax pads on, are these any good? I would go for some greenstuff pads, but they are a wee bit pricey for me.

Use the guide, but leave the discs bit out. changing pads is pretty easy, just remember to grease up the sliders, and check the seals etc while you're there to make sure all is well.

ebc ultimax are great pads, not too expensive, and perfect for road use, in my humble opinion

where are you based? might be a local member willing to give you some help and/or guidance

Glad to hear they don't make much dust, the pads I got on now are terrible.

Ultimax are great, I sell more of these than all the other pads put together.

Another vote for Ultimax pads here I have cheap pads on the 6, and if I look at the brake pedal, my wheels are black

EDIT: Brakes are fairly straight forward if you know what you're looking at, but if you've never done it before I'd recommend you do it with someone who does know - at the end of the day, if you make a mistake, it could cost your life (aswell as some other peoples!).

I have ordered the pads, so should hopefully get them soon, decided to replace the front pads as they are looking a bit low. Found a youtube vid, looks pretty straight forward.

It's fairly straight forward just take your time, and do one side at a time so you can use the other side as a reference If you get stuck, just post on here - someone will help you!

Brake pads have arrived today. Just need to find something to chock the wheels with as I assume I need to have the handbrake off to do the rear pads?

You're assuming correct - how level is the ground? If it's flat, I wouldn't worry - just stick it in 1st gear if you're paranoid If it's a hill, yeah chock the wheels with a brick or something

Ended up getting a mechanic to do it. Got the rear disks done too

Baaah quitter could have saved yourself some money and done it yourself, only takes a few minutes per side! least it's sorted
