right guys, advice for a final sealant of wax for black astra.

going to give it a good going over but i don't like the finished shine from the waxes and sealants i already have.

finishing products i have

autoglym - extra gloss protection.
megs - carnuba wax
megs - tech wax.

none of these give a really deep shiny glossy finish. they each give an alright finish but not a really good one.

so the question goes out to you lot. what will give the deepest wettest glossiest black finish?

Or something from dodo juice?

Megs Ultimate is very good; either that or Dodo Juice Blue Velvet

DODO JUICE PURPLE HAZE..... Trust me you wont regret it... Take a look through my car thread (before it went off the road) and check the reflection and depth of shine

chemical guys 50:50 paste, it's nice

but anyway, your shine comes from the preparation...so use a good fine polish or glaze first, then the wax will work a lot better


check out the pics of that TVR...ok, so it's green, but virtually black...got to admit, it's as good as you'll want it to be

for prep i was going to clay, ultimate comp, then either megs step 1, 2 or srp, or go straight to chemical guys scratch and swirl be gone after the compound.

its just the wax or sealant i'm having trouble deciding on. i've read a lot of good things about the dodo range, just thought i'd put the question out there see what you guys thought.

step 1 cleaner before compound...

dodo is ok, I use some of their stuff, but I hate products that are full of fillers, that disguise the true beauty of the paint

really use the cleaner before compounding. i would of thought that the compound would take back the top layer. then the cleaner would give the new surface a good clean.

Yep, the cleaner will pull the grime and dirt out, the compound will remove the surface marks, including any marring from the cleaner

Before you clay, try decontaminating with a tar remover then an iron-x type product, you'll get a much better finish, and your clay will last longer

was going to de-tar. the iron-x will have to wait til the piggy bank is full again lol.

i hate de-taring black cars. i get great satisfaction watching the tar melt and run down the panel. i love that on a white car lol
