The original paint on the roof, front wings, both drivers door and the front passenger door was actually pretty good but there were small imperfections (scratches, dents and chips) in all of them

The passenger rear arch was repaired when someone reversed into us in a car park over 10 years ago now and the paint that they applied to the rear quarter, rear passenger door and rear bumper was all faded and a bit cloudy.

Then there was the body kit (painted in 2005) this was never right, the paint was far too hard and huge stone chips appeared days after having it painted this ended up 8 years later looking like the car had a huge ache problem all over the front bumper and side skirts even the rear spoiler had stone chips!!

Now, **touch wood** the body work is as good as we can hope it to be

I think we would all get resprayed giving the chance (and the money) theres always some imperfections that were not happy with.

great job guys.. I got to say I am surprised you didnt get rid of the door strips seeing you were getting the doors done anyway.

Noticed you're missing the engine brace in photos from JAE - is it being "coloured"?

we quite like them haha Proof you can polish a turd There isn't a new bumper, just fresh paint nope we took it off, polished it and then left it in the garage and forgot to refit it haha

Last weekend was JAE!!

What a fantastic weekend!!!
Thank you to Marc and Kbob for organising another fantastic JAE!!

We were lucky enough to win 2 club awards!!!
Would just like to say a massive thank you to all that voted, we were both very pleased with winning our awards! Congratulations to all other winners all truly deserved.

We also won the Kleers JAE 2013 Show and Shine best Mazda in show award!
Also a massive thank you to all that helped in preparing our lady in red for the show and shine, special thank you's to Stuartspel, Lerch & the day walker... I mean AndyM (until he had to sit down for a rest! ).

The weather could have been better but at least we had a dry Saturday!
Really enjoyed this year was great to meet new people as well as the usual crowd, this year did seem much funnier probably down the Hughies toure*Bellend*ttes and the various internet video clips!

Can't wait for the next one!

We stripped down the broken gearbox this morning.....



"Well, there's your problem!"










One of 3rd gear's teeth sitting in the bottom of the box....


The rest of 3rd gear stuck to the magnet at the bottom three gearbox!


So third gear decided to strip itself

At least we know what failed now just need to sort out a stronger version now

ouch , thats one hell of a self implosion, like you say at least you know where the problem lies so will be easier to source replacement parts

bloody hell thats a little bit broke's me thinks, like you say at least now you can make it... STRONG like OX

Think it's a synchro issue as it doesn't always slide into gear does shift better if you blip the throttle while shifting, it'll only be a temporary box till we work out what stronger box we're putting in

Damn that doesn't look to good.
What's the condition of shaft bearings?

All this mess was casued by power or there was some miss-shift?



E153? I don't think You'll find smth stronger in Mazda, or straight 3rd to G-series

Too much power, bearings are probably ok but we'll change them all anyway,

Ideally we'd have a PAR straight cut gearset as it's the least amount of faff! But e153 would probably be stronger we'll have a think about it over the winter

I was asking about bearing becasue maybe this had something to do with broken gear. If they (I mean top and bottom bearings on the shaft) are in bad shape, then whole shaft may have some play and if You add power to this it can cause broken gears.
I'm telling this beacause I know that there are a few 4x4 gearboxes connected to BP engine (~300HP) and only thing I heard was broken gerbox casings.
