cheers rock, its getting there, its currently curing in the garage after being filled with expanding foam and threaded bar for rigidity, its a brand of foam ive not used before(polyfilla) and im not sure how hard it will set, hopefully rock hard.... :D ,
so to answer your question ayrton it will be arc shaped, its just a plant pot to hold it in shape for test fit purposes

hiya baz, good to hear you are feeling better about your car :D , the spoiler is sat in the garage with its first coat of blue on......i have to wait a good half hour now till i can give it another coat, and its killing me.....patience is something im no good at lol

but yeah its going well, i think i will have to re-sand it though, it looked all good and smooth with just the primer on, but with a hit of metallic paint(12r - aquarius blue mica) it looks a little lumpy at the join... :(

evening all, its that time of the weekend where i throw in a little update :D , as you are aware ive been working on a new spoiler i grabbed from an MG zs 180 in the scrapyard.
frustrating at times and surprised myself a few times too, but its all fitted now and im very very happy with the results, so happy i gave the car a good wash before i unveil her to you all.

Image

and also with it being nice and sunny i got the wing mirror covers off to and gave them a freshen up with a coat of blue :D , i also (and i still dont like them) replaced the door bump strips due to the huuuge patches of paint which had been pulled off......but seeing them on i have changed my mind a bit and think they have tidied it up a hell of a lot :D

Image

there will be a guide regarding making a non 'f' spoiler fit at some point in the near future

cheers andy :D , there is a tiny tiny blip where the expanding foam seems to be still expanding  , the advice given(by ayrton, and deb(g/f) ), was to leave it and be patient for a few days, as you can see i have non of the patience thing, however, its not fully laquered as yet...im going to give it a chance to swell, vibrate and flex for the few days, then if any repairs result i can sort them in one fell swoop, still over the moon with it :D

well due to the nice weather this weekend, ive not really done much to the car....womble, then i felt guilty as there were a few things needed doing

refitted my chrome interior handles
refitted the racing (style) seats
colour coded the wiper control panels -12r

Image

then gave the horn mounts a lick of white paint, and fitted the refurbed horns, and with it being so dark in the recess you cant even tell they are all shiny, nevermind, i know they are shiny and thats good enough for me :D

Image

ive also been reading into doing a custom front bumper too, ill keep that thread in the styling & bodywork section

cheers baz :D , aye she is getting there...can kind of see where im taking her now.
the seats are on BA rails, and they are are, er, modded....ive just found out i can get access to some welding gear, so they will soon be properly modded

ive also got a few ideas for the interior, mainly colour coding a few trim pieces, though not to the extent as i did with dancer, im going all subtle in my old age....ha ha ha

(i will point out they are safely modded at the moment, its a family car and i wouldn't even entertain the thought of placing my family in an unsafe car)

ha ha ha, baz you have no idea :D , ive got one major mod in mind, check out my bumper project in the styling section, but as it always goes, i either have the time, or the money, but never at the same time, its going to be mostly cheap/free stuff at the moment as i have a can or two of colour coded paint, so mainly interior for now :D

Just seen your front bumper mod its going to be awesome mate 8) no what you mean i have a few things on the wish list but just getting her running right first, like you say neva seem to have both at the same time
Just changing a few little subtle things makes a big difference to the overall look though, ile keep my eyes peeled :D

well its another short update due to shortness of time really, i replaced the now slightly dull exhaust manifold for my spare newly shiny one, sprayed the rear diffuser bit black to match the front, fitted a chrome exhaust tip as the stock one was looking a bit sad and tired, colour coded the steering wheel cowl blue and considered giving her a wash, then decided not to bother as it started pouring down.....

i also bought some window tinting film, and some white leatherette for door cards, and possibly the lower dash 8)

all in all a bit of a busy day when mixed in with decorating the bathroom:D

thought i would add a quick update, and it is only quick as not a lot done lately, and again mainly styling mods :D , lower dash has gone white with blue handles, i will eventually extend all along the lower trim on both front and back door cards, unsure as to do centre console or not as yet.
bought Steve's twin exit sebring back box
recieved my spare project bumper off Rob & Mazz
and finally after what has seemed an age i got an 'eternal flame' badge for the rear reflector, call me a luddite if you will but i prefer this a million times moreover than the new 'wings' badge 8)
Also gave the car a good cleaning outside and in, the meguires box sets i bought are making a massive improvement to the paint work, mind you it also shows me the areas which need attention, its a bit of a bugger seeing them so clearly now :(

Your car is looking great smurf. Must make a plan when weather is decent and I'll give it a full once over with my polisher and wax for you.

well its been a long time since an update, and to be honest its shown in the condition of the car  , filthy wasnt the word for it, however today it has had a bloody good clean out, a damn good wash and wax :D , and i feel so much better for it too...i hate a filthy car.
ive just recieved my new zxi splitter from Matt (cheers fella :D ),
Andy(roy le waa) has managed to locate a couple of replacement doors for me(thanks again :D )
but to my absolute horror i noticed while washing the car that when i cought my lazy apprentice leaning up against the car instead of working, he has managed to push the passengers side wing indicator in over resulting in a depression and crinkle....fuming isnt the word...he is sooooo lucky im off this week
he will be killed on my return
