MX5 Alloys

I got hold of some 2006 MX5 alloys for my 323 BJ sport. I thought they would fit as they're ET55, 16x6.5J, however when I got them on, the front's rub on the caliper carriers. It's not a massive rub, I reckon 1-2mm of outward spacing would do it. Anyone got any suggestions to help?! Or do I just sell them on and get some others?! Cheers!

Put some 3mm spacers on there...sorted

Yup, 3mm spacers would sort you out. You can get them on Ebay for about £5. :wink:

Will they affect the tracking much? I've been told to just grind a bit off the caliper carriers....?! Would that be a valid suggestion?!

I used 5mm ones from Halfords; did the job to clear the callipers nicely

They won't affect the tracking - neither the toe in/out nor the camber angle will be affected by adding 3-5mm to the offset

Actually, a 5mm spacer would bring the offset back to -50mm, which is the standard offset for BJ Sport wheels. :wink:
