Yeah it's ceramic coated!
The manifold isn't stainless so a couple spots of rust are showing through

yeah we had the Manifold, hot side of turbo, down pipe and the screamer pipe all cermaic coated by Black performance in scotland who now have appeared to disappear off the face of the earth

I went to Rimstock HQ (AKA Team Dynamics) and bumped in to Matt Neal who I was spoke to about wheels for the F he suggested some ProRace 1.2 wheels so...

New wheels ordered:

Pro Race 1.2 17" x 7.5" 36ET 4x100

We were looking at 8" wide wheels but the tyres became ridiculous or impossible to find then so we stuck with what we know

New tyres we're looking at:

Federal 595 RS-R

215/40/17
but open to suggestions for an affordable track day tyre

Haha nope

it's on the to-do list along with a few other little jobs just don't have the time we used to

It should be on for japfest

block of ally? is that an actual engine block or ally radiator?

where did you get the radiator from and is it identicle to a standard radiator?

The standard OEM rad is aluminium,
It has a new standard radiator nothing special, fitted last year due to a cracked tube!
No more guesses on the Ali block?

That has to be one of the easiest things to change! I managed to do it with out axle stands, and a windy gun! Took 5 mins! Get it on there

I'd be interested to see how much of a difference it makes!

We've been out this morning working on the car

we removed the cam cover, cam sprockets, the back plate, water pump,
And then we replaced the water pump,
refitted back plate, cam sprockets, cam belt, cam belt plastics, water pump pulley, water pump belt...

Then it rained

I also tired to fit the new front engine mount from Cyntax

and it doesn't fit... yet!
I've removed the studs from the mount I will need to mill off 6mm from bottom of the mount and also i need to find at least 1 new stud as the one is bent!

and the hole centres in the bottom are different so i will need to open up the holes in the lower engine support brace thingy.

we'll get there slowly!

Good day today filled her up with coolant, no leaks!

Fitted the cam cover and the belts then we took her for a blast around town... I mean a test drive to make sure everything was working :lol:

God she's fun to drive!

also when we got back we rang Nick @ MOT motorsport to talk about tyres for the track wheels!
we've settled on some Nankang NS2R nice and cheap and will cope with the track rather well!

ok I have just done a google search and I am struggling to find anywhere that sell these. loads of places of the plain NS2's but not the R's. So where are you getting them from as well lol

their road tyres have been known to melt on track... (we currently have Nankang NS2 on our 18" wheels and they are fine for our day to day driving but do tend to lose grip on track)
I spoke to Nick who tests all the tyres he sells and he said the nankang is a very respectable tyre with quick warm up time, strong side walls etc. etc.
He did suggest for out and out grip and performance the Dmacks would be a better choice but as we dont go in to every corner will all 4 wheels screaching it might be a bit over kill at £150 a tyre!

Originally we were looking at Federal 595 RS-R tyres but apparently they are all going up in price to around £130 and Nick advised that the nankang and the federal with comparable and on a par with each other.
