iv still loads to do to get to get her back up to standard but shes going back to the garage tomorrow as there is a problem when she comes on boost so gonna get the guy to take a look and fix it.

Iv got to get a dremmal to trim off the fibre glass on the skirts then prime, paint and fit them to the car, there not gonna be the super skirts, but they will be just as swanky, also need to sort the bonnet out and get that back to the spray shop to have it tarted up then fit it on the car again.

next on the to buy list is a set of BC coilovers, these will come in due course.
im picking up the last of the break upgrade kit this coming weekend from brum and will or should have these on the car before christmas. iv been told they should fit with the alloys i have now, fingers crossed!!

Well. ... Teething problem galor here!

After 2 years sat. Things have gone a bit pear shaped.
I now need cv joint. Replacement gear box (this was to be expected to be honest)
Picked up a replacement transfer box and trace this damn air leak I get when boosting!!
Cars going back to the garage next week to sort the inlet manifold out and maybe that might cure the leak???
Then some point soon going in to have the GB & TB replaced.

I'm heading up to Birmingham again just before Christmas to collect the GB and hubs so watch this space :)

As soon as we have the mechinal side up together I will work on the body side.

Not much of an update but more of a b*tch

The car developed 3 error codes the past week so I did the paper clip test lol
And I got -
AYC 31, basically it's throwing a Wobblies due to a knackered cv joint that now been replaced but upon doing this we now need new upp arms

TCL - 77
Check engine - 71
Can't remember what way round these codes were but basically pointing to a vacum leak and fails sensor.
So back to mitsi I went to order yet another one, as I only just replaced the IFS one.

As normal I walk in and the parts guy face drops
Only cos he knows I'm gonna make him work!
So, he asks for my chassis number and I reel it from memory. He looks at me and says that's worrying! I laugh.

Well another £67 lighter and the part is being shipped from Japan.

Also I've been keeping track of my mpg so when I'm bored I can look back and cry.
So far in the 6 fill ups since the start of the month my best mpg is 21 and my worst is 16.
Not bad.
Then I put it next to nes.... Same size tank and on a run in the best mpg in the vr4 is the worst mpg in nes

It'll be nice and reliable once you rebuild it all, that's the approach I took :p

All error codes fixed now.
AYC threw another on, 61, brake switch. This got replaced for a tidy sum of £23
Just picked up a set if upper arms and can now set about getting these and the drivers side cv joint changed.

In the week I'm heading up to Birmingham and should be returning with facelift hubs and gearbox with ECU.

The car should be ready for jap fest. Mechanically anyway.

Bit of an annoying update.

As of aprox 9pm last night, some kind soul thought they would rip off my spoiler from the car and throwing into my front garden.
It's totally trashed, chunks, scrapes and cracked.
Needless to say I'm over the moon about this and would love to meet the person who done this so I can high five them.... Round the face.... With a chair.

Just spoken to Mitsubishi and they are now hunting the price of a new one from mitsi Japan.
We suspect its going to be a made to order item and my wallet is quaking in fear already. This is something I may have to go via my insurance for.

But on the up the new upper arms might get fitted today as well as the OSF CV joint.

Bit of an update here now fokes.

Over the past week or two my car has spent more time up in the air then on the deck, namley sorting out the clicky CV joints.
after a bit of fussing about and changing them over and the passenger side still clicking, we came to the thinking that maybe its something a bit more sinister.

after no luck of getting new cv joints for this car and it is a driveshaft unit only, im now looking at sending off my spare set to get done, as to be fair, iv not got the £450 for each side.

anyway, the exhaust was also blowing so it was a job that could no longer afford to be put off. down came the front pipes and a snapped bolt in the manifold on the rear turbo..... b******s!
after a lot of fussing the thing was taken off and the bolt removed after taking it to a garage to abuse there oxy
by the time we got back it was dark out and the car was needed the next day, que the 500w flood light!

Image

that worked a treat! 8)

Onwards and upwards!
To Birmingham i went the next day, dropped some stuff off to Andy M and had a bit of a chat.
nice to see ya again mate :)

then over to my mate Amesh to collect a few items...

Image

in that little lot is the auto gearbox, 4 facelift hub carriers and 5 ECUs, one of which will work along side the gearbox.
nothing wrong with my old ECU its just if you replace, you need to change the ECU so it works well. kind of annoying but hey ho!
oh and tow torque converters, only need one but he couldnt remember what was the better of the two.

dam heavy all that lot and i deffo felt it on the drive back home!

but this run was the best result i have had yet on a run :)

Image

still got an 8th left!
im well chuffed :D

onto the next day.
this is where the fun really begins.

Its now finally time to upgrade my brakes :wav:

Image

Old V New
Image

I had to use 22mm spacers in order to get them to fit and still its a tight fit!
Image

but here it is!

Before:
Image

After:
Image

Now i can stop and now i do need to carry a spatula in the car so i can peel my face from the screen

hello you lot once again ;)

its been a bit of a hectic time hence the delay in updating.

iv been a tad busy in getting the old gal ready for the shows and track.

over the weekend i went to japfest and for the first time ever, for both me and the car, we went out on the track :) she did me very proud and im glad to report no crashing was had!
it has shown me that i really must get that gearbox changed and uprate my brakes (took the brembos off as they are shot) and get some coilovers on there ASAP!

but here is some pictures from the day.

Castle Combe - Japfest 2013

Image

Image

Image

Image

OM NOM NOM NOM!!!
i eat mazda's for lunch!

Image

But todays antics was spent out in the pi$$ing rain replacing the rear of the exhaust system. (i sort of blew the old system up while on track)
then all hell broke loose when the welding wire ran out! ops:

its done, on the car. blowing a little but that can be sorted later as can the slight tweaking of one of the cans.

I will get to putting pics and vid up in due course. but right now meh im knackered

im just saving now for the suspension and brake upgrade. at japfest i had a nice chat with the lot from BC racing and they can fix me up a set of coilovers for the car for a nice tidy sum of not to much bank braking figures. been on the blower to Godspeed brakes and had the guy in stitches and hes gonna sort me a set of grooved disks all round and Kevlar pads all round and refurb my front brembos (didnt want the rears doing as they are ok) for a good price.

once this is done its back to the saving pot for the TD04 turbo upgrade! heeeeheeeeheeee!!!
my biggest problem on that task will be finding a 7202 ECU (really should check mine to see if its a 201 or 202....)
the 202's can be re-mapped where as the 201's cant, and being a PFL (pre facelift) car there is a high chance it is a 201 EUC i have. but there is a small chance its a 202 due to the fact its the super and was the last of the PFL and iv been told that some of the last of the runs on the PFL had a 202 in place....
hell its not like its gonna take me more then 5 minuets to find out as its pull a bit of plastic out the way. but its one of them yeah i will do it in a mo and never do it! lol

well now, its been a bit of a time since the last update.

in a recap i was last saving for the a brake and suspension upgrade and move on to the TD04 turbo upgrade.

Sadly this has not happened due to a bit of a hiccup in the gearbox department that took place early august 2013 :(
its totally failed and rendered the car useless.

back into storage she went for the next 18 months *sigh*

lets fast forward to now 8)

over the past 3 to 4 days the car has been dusted down and taken to a friends workshop where we have removed the dead box (i will be sending this off to be refurbed) and fitting of the new box! :D
The car was put back together last night so that is left to do is fill will fluids and match the ecu.

pics to follow later
