That is a hell of a job Matt. What controls the seat rake. I seem to remember that on old BMW's it was wires (which broke) and some kind of spool mechanism. What I need to know is......have you removed the leather cover on the squab of your BA. If you have did you manage it without cutting the leather. With the seats I bought from you I would like to change the foam in the squab but I am scared of taking the mechanism apart.

Anyway good luck......why dont you make the seats heated while you are at it !!!
no they are just covers no cutting or stitching involved. only thing holding them to the foam are metal clips which you have to bend and twist off. just peel back the leather and you can see them.

the mechanism does look hard to put back together on the ordinary 323 seats (in fact i have hit the point of no return with my mech if i cant get the motors to work with my seats) but not impossible to do. the rails (with mech) can infact stay on the car while you remove the seat so you dont need to disturb it. think there are 4 bolts hidden in the rail itself to allow you to do this.

the electric one is just a motor gripped into some teeth on the rails, also with a spline in the middle connecting it to the opposite one. very simple and reliable! makes me think how strong the motor is, escpecially to be able to move the seat with someone in it!

i was thinking of doing a heated unit but thats bighting off more than i can chew  was looking at what bikers use to warm up the leather power ranger outfits they ware. its just a wire that runs through the fabric that warms up. maybe in the future i will.

there is a motor in the back rest of the xedos seat, havnt got to that yet.

you can buy heat seater kits easily from ebay,
just a pad the sits in the foam :D

The Xedos 6 seats might be easier as the F shares more parts with a Xedos 6

:D

you should do it. its cheap too i bought this piece for only £7. wish i had got a different shade of black though. they offer a charcoal colour that might have been better as this looks almost purple in some lights.

I have always been worried about getting it nice and smooth around the edges. If you say it's simple I will look into doing it when I am next back from sea

NO its realy hard :? i had to give up for now and walk away from it was getting frustrated. i will give it a different approach tomorrow. its stretching it around the angles of the dash thats the hardest it just ripples and bubbles up, most bubbles will come out but some just creace forcing you to peal it off again. and the more you try to forces out the creases and bubbles the more i am ruining the suade, it goes shinney and wears out quickly. it doesnt streatch very easy at all. alot hader to do than i first thought.

im using spray on adheasive which i think is probably the best thing to use.

Nooooooo, my idea of hell.... it looks really nice... but I cant touch suede!

Always been like that, cant touch the stuff. same with alcantara :( We went to look at a lovely mazda whos interior had been covered in alcantara. I couldnt even get in. The guy had spent a fortune getting it done, and it looked amazing, but I would never have been able to drive it.

Looks good though :D

they plug in easy to the bulb holders for the side lights

im worried the above, will block light what are peoples thoughts?

80mm fitted but will not sit flush so i dont think i will be using these.

also thought about putting them here but the glass will probably just blur them and will get in the way of full beam.

Going to be nice when done mate, might be worth trying the 60mm and putting the glass back loosely so you can check how it affects the beam, but suspect it will severly affect the projector lens / reflector

i know yeh going to look brill when finished. i think i might just use the 60mm where it is and forget the 80mm. would have been good to use both and had double halo's but i dont think its going to work.

im just worried the 60mm where it is will restrict the dipped beam. and since im putting on HID's it would be silly to the restrict the light. i could put the 80mm in front of the dipped beam with a bit of messing and modding and would not restrict light at all.

anyone know how to remove the silver reflector unit from the unit itself i want to spray it and i cant see an easy way to remove it.

for those who havnt seen them here are my halo rings i bought and fitted into my headlights. they work on my side light function, i just extended the wire for the side lights and ran it into the headlight unit. i am realy pleased with how they have turned out :)

yeh i never seen it on any car on here.

mazda's reasoning for what country got what on their cars have always been abit odd. i think keyhole lights was australia and newzealand two country's well known for their dark winter nights  but nowhere else in the world had them (if im right). many later BA's got remote locking anyway.

scandinavia got heated seats and headlight washers unlike anywhere else in the world. They fealt the uk was warm enought to need aircon but not cold enough to get heated seats. i think its lucky we got a heated rear window

As does the Equipe versions of the Mazda MX3, normal editions don't have it. Not sure if the parts are interchangeable.
