Stu and Caroline's Mazda Demio

Well since the Shogun is now gone (good riddance to a bag of crap. . . :lol:

) we were carless for a couple of weeks, quite possible the worst couple of weeks ever :lol:

We viewed a couple of cars in those weeks and they too turned out to be a massive disappointment, we did however drop upon this lovely little Demio a week or so ago, placed a deposit on it and we picked it up last night

It's the most basic spec I have seen on car this new for a while, No electrics at all, no central locking, but it's an absolute dream to drive, it may only be a 1.3 but it's so far returning decent mpg and it's incredibly comfortable to drive too

Anyway a couple of pics, we have put the wheels on today, they are 323F Imola wheels and I put some clear side repeaters on it too, they suit this car way better than the BA

Overall it's very tidy, it has a couple of dings and scuffs but most importantly no rust

Next thing is to get some silver vision bulbs for all 4 corners

It's not being modified unless replacing a worn part is cheaper with aftermarket upgrade rather than one from the motor factor :lol:

I'm looking forward to giving it a good clean, it really needs it on the outside but the inside is spotless

Shogun was ruined, Massive oil leak from the sump, steering felt awful and knocked, diff oil seal needed therefore diff oil etc needed, gearbox was a little crashy so I think it needed an oil change, rear arches were much rustier than I first though, I could only get 150 miles to a tank and if it decided it was going to be a silly bugger half that. . . the list goes on

I basically had no trust in it and thought it might break down at any point :lol:

demio is a lovely little car and I'm very happy with it

They are coming off soon in favour of the BBS wheels I have, thhe 15's scrub a little on the rear arches when loaded up

Those BBS wheels are super light, so you might get even better MPG

Start saving for the centre caps though

Ayrton....it's not being modded, It nedded new tyres ideally and the ba alloys fit ok but I think the mx-5 ones will work better :-)

Gave it a clean tonight, picture looked great on my phone and not-so-great on the computer :doubt:

Still looking for a reasonable set of centre caps too if anyone can keep their eyes open at the scrappy ??

I'm waiting till a spring/shocker fails before addressing the arch gap, handling is getting better and better though with these couple of bits I've done

Maybe a set of wheel spacers next and a smidgen of camber when it gets lowered :lol:
