we're very happy with them, couldnt decide on a colour for ages! we didnt want too much red in the engine bay but i think its ok

To have put another colour would have been a mistake, the red is defo the colour for your engine bay, really is stunning.

going with the other colours in the engine bay we could have had red, black, white or silver

Hey guys, thats great news. congrates

After being a good girl on the Saturday we decided to treat her to new brake pads - EBC Yellowstuff pads front and back
EBC were kind enough to make some for us as they don't sell them off the shelf!

However while changing the front drivers side pads I had my foot under the car and I could see something dripping on my shoe! found out it was coolant

after some rooting around we have found its the water pump gasket
We only changed the water pump in April this year as preventative maintenance while the engine was out and easier to work on.

So now we have the aux belts off, power steering pump off, cam covers and cam-belt off ready for when we get another dry day to change the water pump gasket soooooo annoyed!

pretty sure that is the last time we will buy non-Mazda parts for service items.....

For VirtualDyno it's usually recommended to do the WOT log in 3rd or 4th gear (otherwise the acceleration can be too quick for the data logger to register enough data points to plot a smooth graph), however you may find that your travelling quite fast by the time you reach the red line so make sure it's on a quite national speed limit road.
Also don't forget the fuel in the tank adds weight and so does the driver that's why there's a vehicle weight and an occupier weight box on the log window.
Every 10 litres of fuel adds 16.1lb or 7.3kg

Which isn't ideal as it doesn't reach the red line nor is it at full 100% throttle and I don't know exactly what gear we were in but I guessed 3rd

The graph I got was this:

at 0.6 bar, just under 5k rpm the BHP is around 177

Compare this to the actual dyno sheet:

at 0.6 bar, just under 5k rpm the BHP is around 180 ish

Conclusion:
So its seems very accurate but I don't know if this is actually bad news for this test, due to all the unknowns and errors in the data I look forward to doing a proper run where all the errors are corrected and I can load it into the virtual dyno again at least now I know how to use the program and it is quite simple to get around!

Yeah, a quick calc shows at 6k prm in 4th we would be doing 114mph

Just so you know the weight is quite an import part of the calculation as on a dyno it measures HP and torque by how quickly you can spin a fixed weight roller. On the road with Virtual Dyno it uses how quickly you can move the weight of the car.

point taken, looks like a trip to the weigh bridge!

If you've got an aftermarket ecu or a data logger you record a data log of yourself accelerating from around3K RPM until just before red line and the load it into the program in csv format. Either by draging and dropping or using the file menu. It's quiet straight forward to use once you know how to get the logs. Required log fields are time, RPM & Throttle position, boost & AFR are optional.

One question, what do you use to keep the mani silver, on boosted cars it usually flakes off even with VHT paint, ceramic coated is it?
