Turbo , Manifold/header ,downpipe ,de-cat pipe and oil cooler removed today

KoSpeed header installed. Oil sump removed and a new one in its place. Turbo Install was shocking as we found out. Oil leaks everywhere and shards of metal in the bottom of the sump :shock:

Cars drivable but I still need to remove front mount, wideband, gauges and Knock link. also need to make an injen style induction kit for it .

How did you go with the header and the EGR pipe?

No problems with the Header. My egr pipe is not connected to the egr valve so its more of a egr bung :lol:

How did you block it off at the valve end?

Pipe Cut, squashed together and welded.

Hahaa like the egr blank off. Good in a way that you opted out of completing the turbo. Could have been bad. Do all aftermarket/ss headers come egr-less?

No. the ports there for the egr pipe its just making it fit thats hard.

Looks worse in the pictures. dont notice it when looking in the engine. Stop caring about it now anyway.

I'm gutted mate. I didn't know this until now. (haven't visited the board in quite a while).

Have you looked into Megasquirt or Kdfi standalones?
Still alot of money and time to get things right though. Still, i'm gutted :cry:

Still would be 1-2k for standalone , fitting and tuning.
The bigger issue with the ecu , piggy back or standalone is finding a tuner that will work with these cars. If a tuner dosent want to work with piggy back and the Bj's Ecu then the only option would been standalone. Cheapest quoted was £1400 all in.

All been stripped now apart from gauges and knock link. unsure when I will get around to removing these as the cars stopped working. After 3 days of running fine, well feeling alittle under powered thinking it was because the cat was back fitted, the cars give up the go. Breaking down on me miles from home, Starting but Failing to run almost like its ran out of fuel . Its currently parked up at my mates garage . If its gonna cost more than £50 to fix then I feel I will be spamming the For sale section with parts.

Not good mate lesson learned dont turbo N/A car wish we could i love the bj but be nice with more power 130 not enough and rusting wny on such nice cars shame really

Had it home for a week now. Been removing the last of the turbo parts and been starting it up to keep battery charged.
Took it out yesterday without problems.....touching wood........ I did get a P0111 code (Air intake temp ) before hand. Checked all wires and sensor which seemed fine and cleared the code using my cheapo Amazon bluetooth reader and free Torque app and all still seems fine. Might have been because I was farkin around with my intake to reposition it?

Saturday I'm hoping to get the new mid cat in and tomorrow a new battery fitted

Vinyl wrapped the mirror backs last night. looked ok untill I put them on this morning

get some red plastidip and do them that way - when you get bored just peel it back off?

I like the look - loads of cars have contrasting mirrors these days!
(nothing to do with me having black mirrors on the 6 by the way!)

Bet the ride is much nicer with the standard rims on now though huh?
