I started to do the mirror covers a while back, and the casting marks and stone chips on them really showed up when painted white, so I have water papered all the casting marks and filled the little stone chips. Then primered them with plastic primer, but where the plastic meets with the old paint it seems to react, so have water papered them down again, then spray filled with the plastic filer primer, again there is a reaction where the plastic and paint meet. looks like this is going to be a nightmare to sort it, so if anybody knows of a barrier paint to prevent this, please let me know.

A few pics of the work so far.

here are the pics of the door handels fitted, and the bonnet polished. I have done some pics for a guide on modifying the door handels so that they can be stripped and painted then put back together again, will write it up during the week and load it under the guide section.

I am still a little unsure of the handels, but havenig spent over two weeks doing them and then haveing to fix them after the wife put her towel on them, they will stay as they are for now. If I decide against them, I do have a spare set to either go back to all black or do the base section in white as well.

Also, once the mirrors are done I think it will look better.

Bonnet came up nicely, but there are some deep scratches and stone chips, so will probably need to be repainted.

Had a busy day today, been busy with the little things that really dont appear to be much, but take hours and if everything else was done and ready, they probably wouldnt be done properly, so good to do them while waiting for the bigger things to take place.

Stripped sanded and treated the whiper arms the other day and primered them today, ready for satin black finish,

Removed and stripped a number of brackets ready for sanding and treating when the wet paint work is dry.

Fitted the rear vent which has been modded due to broken retaining lugs.

Sanded and preped the wiper pressure blades

Sanded and resprayed the mirror covers (now ready for painting white) and also filled and primered the rear stone gaurds ready for painting black.

Photo album link: http://s1036.photobucket.com/albums/a44 ... 20project/

Some picsof todays work included.
