I have a 95 mile round trip to work everyday - now that canes my petrol!

Still cheaper than the train

right guys,
on my trip upto santapod and kettering to meet matty.
i filled up with v-power from my local shell garage, plus i put a bottle of fuel injection cleener in there.

now:

price of v-power was £1.18.
total spent was £52.00 to fill her up.
and the distance i covered before the fuel light came on was 322miles.
this equates to a happy 33.22 mpg

im happy with this from a bg GT. and i should be getting more now, ive ran the fuel injector cleener and carried out a full service of all filters. etc. coooool

I got 333miles from my ZXI a few weeks back when I went down to Aylesbury from North Wales, and I was travelling, first long trip with it and simply enjoyed the car. I was pleasantly surprised as my 1.8 was giving me about 400 with similar driving. So not a bad difference concidering the differance in in the power and evgine size. Sure I could get better that that tho.

Well my little scrapper just put in 430 miles to 48 litres again.

I think most of you guys must drive everywhere with the needle near the red of the rev counter.

I don't take mine past 4k rpm, bugger all power there considering its a twin cam.

I've worked out (using Excell) I could get about 480 miles out a tank. Haven't tried it though.

I'm still getting 38-40mpg and that's with booting it to the redline occasionaly, helps to clean the engine to.

Full Tank last year driving from Fife to Download was about 350 miles as the needle just dropped below the quarter mark. I've never waited to refuel before the red light comes on... something to do with someone once telling me that on older cars you'd be burning shit from the pipes if you did so heh.

Normal town driving I get around 270 miles before I chicken out an refuel :D I dont know how many litres she holds... but she's a ZXI if thats any help

I filled up on friday in plymouth £45 at 124.9 so abit over 3/4s of a tank. fuel light didnt come on until i got to canterbury, about 280 miles. also had to go via taunton to pick up a mate, and drop him off in staplehurst just outside maidstone. i was quite impressed to be honest, thats on my little 1.5 :D

Cruising on a long journey from the Isle of Harris to Glasgow I was able to get close to 50mpg. That was using BP Ultimate.

Haven't been able to get that on normal grade petrol, but still getting around the 40mph mark, although with petrol hitting £1.45 a litre here I don't think I'll be using the car much now.

personally if you are worried about fuel prices then dont want a car that will thrill you every time you get in it. fuel could double and it wouldnt take that feeling away from me.

As for all of you complaining about price of fuel going up, take it from someone that has had to que for petrol for over 72hours more than once just to fill his car up. Just be glad you can get it

Aytron, I was behind 3 cars at Asda a few weeks ago I know how I you feel mate  ;)

Neh joking aside, I love driving etc and like you say the price could never take that away but how much I earn and the need to pay the rent sure does!
