Hello all, I've posted in wanted section, need to get near side wing, headlight and indicator sidelight unit and I'll get her looking nice again. If any of you could help greatly appreciated. I took turbo lark off cos of the smack. Does mean I can modify a few things. ie The manifold main flange to the block has warped a little! clearly the steel wasn't thick enough. Little bits here and there that can be improved. After that she might be up for sale! wife wants something bigger for the holidays...? I keep trying to convince her that the zxi v6 IS bigger "you just can't see it luv". I'd love to turbo that bugger..... Any hows hope you are all well. Might just get a meeting in before I sell her. I can safetly say I have been on holiday in my 1.5 BA with my ex-ex-ex-ex girlfriend and her two boys, no trouble And there are always roof bars and a top box if there's too many make up boxs for the boot

Can't help thinking about all those turbo 1.5 bits lying there and Japfest round the corner

Hey guys can anyone help me pls?? Can i fit a ct9 turbo taken off a toyota diesel engine on my 1997 mazda 323f 1.5lt engine without any major mods to the engine(pistons etc.)without damaging anything. i've been looking for info. i know i have to make a sandwich plate and 5 injector. pls help me guys...

10X mate. I'm looking for some info as i can't afford the major mods. Do you know a website where i can get info on the car's internals? For example temperature ranges and stuff like that for the internals? bdw beautiful mazda mate. I really wish i can fit the turbo on lol. Would be great.

The internals should be good for 110bhp I'd say

But it's not as simple as getting a turbo and bolting it on - you would need a new exhaust manifold, new downpipe and midsection of exhaust, new intake piping, new ECU and wiring so you no longer have to use the MAF (as with it, the turbo will cause the engine to run very lean), larger injectors, larger fuel pump to power these injectors (might get away without this one).

That's all I can think of at the moment

the extra injectors i heard of. 10x a lot mate. But what do i have to do to the ecu? still can not understand. i'm a bit under experienced lool.

You need to remove it and fit an aftermarket one ££££

At the moment, your car will use a MAF sensor (see the wiring going into the intake tubing, thats the fella) - a turbo will confuse this, meaning the ECU will run rich up to probably around 3krpm, then very lean above that (extra air, no extra fuel). So you need a new ECU that doesn't use a MAF sensor, so the confusion doesn't take place

why not look for a B6T - see how much of it you can use on your 1.5

There's a guy on here who has just wired a BG GT engine and ECU into his 1.5 BA - so wiring the B6T ECU into a BA shouldnt be too much more trouble

issue woud be where do you stop - replace the whole engine with it or try and bolt as much of the B6T to the Z5........

there was a frankenstein Z5 turbo around somewhere - cant remember who's it was though........

In that case, probably best to forget the B6 route. I'd base your shopping list on Ricardo's setup - have a read through his thread and start looking for parts on ebay

A friend told me that the internals should hold up very good for about 7-8 psi. Is that true? 7-8 psi is very little i guess right?

I recon that it will give you a proper boost, IF you fine tune it correctly.

For example, a factory nissan 200sx (s13), 1.8T with a T25 turbo only gets to 10-11psi if my grey hairs are right about it. And that car kicks out an 169bhp, not bad if I must say.

Think you'll rape the box faster then the engine...

so i shouldnt damage the internals ejj. well i'll start with maybe 5-6 psi ande see how i'm doing then il boost it up more.

Engine internals aren't particularly strong, but providing the engine is tuned right, the gearbox would give up before the engine

The hardest part is a toss between your manifold and fueling. Trust me it's all a b*tch. The stock internals, provided in good shape, are good for upto 10psi. The gearbox is not as good as form the b6 but again provided its in good nick will be fine. Your clutch however, won't last a week. well depends on your driving. But come on, we don't turbo to drive nan to the shops? Or do we.......? My ba is up for grabs on ebay is anyone fancy's a bargain. Still mechaniccly sweet but still needs new wing and bit of patch work on bonnet.

As for injectors I ran stock for nearly a year, you just have watch your boost and air/fuel readings. I also do have mx6 injectors, but without some management they run really rich until under boost. I was at the stage of trying out another piggyback ecu when the dosy cow hit me. Thats set me back ever since.

What do you have as mods for sale seperately for turbocharging the z5???

Well I gotta leave my turbo gear just in case buyer of mazda wants it, but if car fails to sell or buyer is not interested then I'll get in touch. everything I built and assembled will be up for grabs. Total turbo gear I have is manifold, T25 turbo charger, flexi downpipe with o2 plug, intercooler plus piping (although all my piping is high pressure petrol hose I dug out of a bin from work! haha. Not bling but it works), dump valve from vxr, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, coolant feed lines, oil t-piece with braided oil feed line. The one thing that IS still attached to car, because it was a b*tch to install, is oil return line and flange. The photos on here are of a big blob of gunk holding my oil return in place. But I did make a proper return flange thats bolted to oil pan. I'll grab a photo if you wanna see. If anyone wants full kit, I would get it off for ya. I can make new blanking plate at work to cover flange holes.

oh bugger, forgot triple gauge pod and gauges. digital air/fuel-which reads wideband and narrow band+battery voltage, oil temp and oil pressure gauges.
