Obviously no BA specific but it seems to be a common problem for the front windows to get like this...

So apply some toothpaste and give it a good rub in like this...

Then wash of with water and you'll get this...

Not perfect but an improvement. Repeating the process would do the trick like this...

I don't have a before pic for the passengers side but it was just as bad as the drivers side after the first coat of toothpaste. Will be applying more coats soon and will post up any improvement's.

I doubt it will ever look like new, but anything is an improvement, be interesting to see if a lick of Megs glass cleaner would finish it off :D

I looked on the internet and found this

http://www.fitchfamily.com/glass.html

Anyone know anything about this? The guy who wrote that on the website almost seems too serious to have made it all up.

Feels like the scratches on 323f's is just the same kind of scrathes as he got there :)

There are products out there that will do this, if you can be bothered ;) When I had tints on the front windows the scratches werew a lot less in your face :p

So long as they let 70% of light through, yes :)

Really? I'm mooving asap :P In sweden, any tint on front windows are illegal.

by the way, this might be a little offtopic, but i allways dreamed of seeing/having a car with back & rear window with a " magic mirrors " meaning, you can see out, but from the outside, it looks like a mirror. That would be pimp.

what happens is that dirt on the windows and the front windows are the only ones that are really news it builds up on the rubbers on either side of the windos
and because the fronts are moved more than the rear the dirt in the rubbers scratches the glass
no idea why toothpaste gets rid of them tho
could fill in the grooves i guess????????

Because toothpaste has abrasive in it such as silica ;)

When I changed my speakers I clenaed the seals and the rubber strip. They were ruff but I've got no clue on how they are supposed to be like.

Anyone got any good tips on cleaning the rubber strips?

I'll be trying the toothpast thing anyway ('',)
have a look at my RX7 thread in the ex f'in owners section - I used a windscreen repair kit from scratch doctor, found on ebay - and it made a massive difference.
It's a bit like scratches in your paintwork - you won't remove them completely, but you will dull the edges, and make them much less evident.
If you polished the glass to the same depth as the scratch, they would go...but you'd have very thin windows ;)
