Hello all, my name's Trevor, I live in Broadstairs, Kent and I've just bought a beautiful (apart from some awful wheel trims) 97 1.5 GXi 323F BA for £400, unfortunately it was one of those "too good to be true" deals and I've discovered the waterpump is totally bolloxed and it's going to cost me £250 to get it fixed.

Still the car looks good sitting outside my house which is more than can be said for the Renualt Megane I had before.

You assume some mechanical competence on my part :). The garage who gave me the quote were also going to replace the cam belt.

once again, cam belt on here for cheap, or from shop online.

ask someone on here and they will help you change it. (for the price of a beer and a burger king ;) )

welcome to the club man :) Shame about the waterpump, but that and the cambelt should be done on a new car anyway,
and at least you'll know it has been done, and you won't have any more problems!

Put a section on the BA servicing and technical section about the water pump and cam belt and someone will be able to help you out hopefully!
