injectors are in and i even stretched the wallet and got bailey dump valve for staggering £9 on ebay haha. turned fuel pressure down to 2.5 bar from 3 after installing new injectors. o2 gauge is constantly reading ratio of 11.5:1 aside from lifting foot off throttle it doesnt move?? any thoughts? standard injectors rated @ 3 bar is 161cc/min. mx5 injectors rate @ 3 bar 212cc/min. ive even turned them down to 2 bar. doesnt make any difference....yet thats less fuel than old ones that were turned up to 3 bar!!! right even i'm confused now.

Dont take my word for gospel but if I remember right, as long as the tip doesnt protrude further than the skirt you should be ok (you will need a cat though for emissions) otherwise it should be ok I think? Anyone feel free to correct me here.

I used to have a renault r5, loads of fellow owners had side exits.

Mate, well done. I have just picked up on this thread and its great that someone has the imagination and skill to make there own conversion kit!

Garrett off a 9-3 wont boost till later but I bet it boosts all the way past redline.

Are you going to use a 5th injector with the piggyback and are you using a map sensor or just sticking with the MAF?

Also what boost you running on the standard internals? You staying under 6?

starts spooling @ 2000rpm in 3rd. gate's set at 7psi at the mo. got bigger injectors ready to go BACK in and am awaiting apexi safc from japan. hopefully will take it upto 10psi. from what i could find out. thats pretty much the maximum stock internals will take.still running on stock maf.it'll do the job.

anybody know why my ecu doesnt seem to follow any mazda pin layout? what I mean by this is I found 3 different ecu's that have 2 plugs. the first with 26pins the 2nd 22pins. according to these drawings the airflow sensor is in the same place....and mine isnt????? should be i think 5th pin from left on 1st plug. just an empty slot. I found mine. mines on bottom row nowhere near where it says it should be. my ecu says z5-b. anybody a guru when it comes to ecu's? doesnt bloody help when nothings following any drawings. how can it be working right if its all over the bloody shop.... :x

I dont understand alf that crap either.honestly.til this project id never lifted a bonnet.ever! if something fell off car id throw it at a mechanic.thats that.im biker.spent teen years tuning 2 strokes and ragging superbikes.my bike has been off the road for 2yrs.missing her now.so trying to get my thrills from this car lark.the lads go on about ball joints and track rods....i havent got clue what THEYRE on about.im used to a block engine in a bike frame or a blob of motor bolted to an altenator!

Anybody can bolt turbo to their motor and it'll run.honestly.thats easy.it runs fine with stock everything.but as soon as you wanna drive like you normally do.it cries AHHHH YA B***ARD.WHAT YOU DO THAT FOR! The hard bit is getting fueling tuned so you can rag it. i havent finished this project but im getting ready for next.should be getting v6 in feb.top of list is twin turbo.gonna need miracle to get it all in.gonna give it a go.if that fails.go for easy supercharge

Ross/Weisco do ungraded internal parts for the Z5 engine, not got the link anymore but Mark T might have.

From memory, I think the kit costs over £500 but you can order seperate parts :D

Would be really interested in finding out the bhp after the turbo is added to see if it would be worth while trying. Price also has to be a factor

More a torque gain then bhp. Cost was about £150, but then I did all the work myself. Do it bud. Learning curve at least. Damn fun if not extremely frustrating at times.

take you existing oil pressure switch out. Its tucked right underneath your plenum chamber. b!stard to get at. stick in 1/8 t-piece in its place. thread your oil line onto t-piece then thread your oil switch back on - although your gonna want to get new one. You'll need oil pressure switch which has sender terminal for your gauge and switch terminal.

Damn dude, thats a real shame :(

Hats off to what must be the only sussessful known UK 1.5 turbo, hope it doesn't get written off, we've not had a chance to see it in the flesh yet and my apologies for not getting that pin layout for you, life has been a little hectic since I posted that :)
