Zig - i think with everything (mandrel bends, couplers, induction cone, breather filter and clips) it came to around £80 inc delivery, give or take a few quid either side

Still no one tried for the V6?? might i be the 1st?

On the decal just have the writing, i wouldnt want a full colour pic on my car...

someone do a silhouette black image of the intake with stephens intake written across, that'll look the best on a car.

I've tried it on the V6, just haven't posted pictures up yet.

from the looks u dont need the 90 angle only the 45 can u confirm this?

This is how I've got my 1.8 at the moment. Tucked into the wing is a big twin mushroom filter behind the AndyM intake. The 1.8 really likes the longer induction setup and the low end torque is dramatically improved.



(still haven't fitted the bracket for the breather filter)

by the way, that's not the place to put a water temp sensor block (gold thing). Any time I stop the exhaust manifold cooks it and the gauge shoots up to 120.

How many and which bends did you have to use to get that setup? And in which order with how many couplers?

Will it not cause any problems with air flow with the air filter being so low down and the air having to travel further and upwards? Or does it not matter?

In general, longer distance from the throttle body to filter will give more torque & less power. Shorter distances will give the opposite.

I really like the difference in driving it now. It runs out of steam more quickly at the top end but the torque makes it much more fun, even when driving fairly gently.

Bends are 90, 45, 90 in that order.

Most couplers are 63mm but needed a 63-72mm to go onto the throttle body side of the MAF and another to go onto the filer.

alex wait til your driving and you'll realize you don't get to use the top end power much, well not if you want to keep your licence. if your going to take it on the track you can alway reduce the length of the pipe while your doing the rest of your pretrack adjustments.

yeh good idea.....i may go on a track at show occasionally.....but would be embarassed if i drove shit lol(although my mum says i'm a good driver ^o) )

thats why i removed my mahoosive decat, it was becoming such a pain to enjoy it daily driving, you had to rev it so bloody much to move off at a decent pace

just route it to cold air alex, a shorter pipe within the engine bay gave me loads of noise and sluggish as f@@k, i made a longer one routed to cold air outside the engine bay and blamo, excellent!

shorter apparently gives you a snappier throttle response but i didn't notice it, it was just sh@t, so bad that if it stayed like that i would have been tempted to sell

the place i know that works well is the engine undertray vent, thats where mine is others that ive heard that work really well is the andym style intake

yeh atm i just have the standard pipe with a duct routing to the undertray....maybe a stephens intake a bit lower down but with a duct from the front bumper.....would i stll get the noise though

well i'm thinking of having my standard box with a k and n filter with the andym bumper intake. i want to replace the rubber hose to the tb with some shiney pipe. don't know if it will have any performance effects but it'll look better lol
