there is a thread sum1 on 156.net of sum1 who is currently putting together a silver 156 with that kit i think. said it should be finished some point this week. cant wait to see it!

not yet mate, been away at uni. may have to wait till end of the academic year now until i get the chance to fit it, but cant wait to get it on!

the alfa v6 is one of the best sounding v6's in std form, with just a couple of mod they sound god-damned sex.

as for the 2,0 16 valve, it's not as good as the old 2.0 8v twincam now there was torque throughout the rev range.....and soooooooo much more tunable ( same engine as the fiat 132 arbarth or supermiafuri) but its still a good engine, shame the electrics let the alfa's down.

watch for the front anti roll bar bushes...they can wear out very quickly.

i must admit i miss my old 75 Tspark..

if someone out there knows of any 155 q4's for sale, could you let me know....intergrale engine under the bonnet of that beast.

Sandman68- the 2.0 i have seems to be ok, but its a bit lacking low down below 3000rpm, after that its a rocket. ive recently got a knock up front from some where on the suspension lol touch wood the electrics have been fine so far. so far it hasnt been a bad experience at all, i think people have got a set thinking towards alfas but they really aint that bad at all. the old 155's look hard as fook in black really been catching my eye recently. i would love a 3.2 v6 gta but its a bit of a dream car at my age lol.

My dad used to have a Fiat Supermiafuri when i was younger. He loved that car.

I know its an old thread, but the 156 is a lovely car, I was looking for one last year but couldint find a decent one for the money I had at the time (£1200) so I settled for a ST24 Mondeo instead.

Still love those 156's though, you just gotta watch out for the bottom ends going as thats their achilles heal, my mate whose got a garage has 4 of them, all T and V plates with no engines in, the one with an engine still in knocks its brains out and its only done 70K.

I still like the 155's aswell, was lucky enough to have one briefly, It was the sport pack one with the black speedline alloys, was a beauty but had to be scrapped as it was rotten, which I couldint believe as it was a R plate

turns out she was literally splitting in half with rot, it needed completley welding underneath, so unfortunately she went to the auctions and sold for £70 and was later scrapped. Shame

I'd just spend £260 on a full stainless steel exhaust aswell

I got my little 145... really fancy a GTV now though. Miss the coupe stance of the F!
I agree though, once you've played in an alfa, they're a bit addictive!

the 155 looks gorjus, i looked at them to but the interior is better in the 156.

156 bottom end failure? not likely matey..........

the twin sparks are solid motors really, though if the cam belts aint changed at regular intervals then your asking for trouble as they will snap! thats the real weakness.

the only reason a TS will have a knocking bottom end is coz the cambelt has gone and thats killed the big end shells and the repairs been done on the cheap.

i have never ever heard of in the last two years of ownership and being part of the members club for longer still, of a TS thats had a bottom end go out of the blue, only ever killed if cheap belt failure repair.

the 155 is a proper classic i like the lines on em, although the 156 is a lil more curvey.

Matey... i got one from eBay, fitted it and the car was going crazy! Ended up re-fitting the old one and fixing a wiring fault.

yeh the wiring can be interesting.

currently my brake light has taken to overheating and turning itself off.

like if your sat at a junction with you foot on the pedal, after a lil while, the bulb warning light comes on, next junction, fine again. hurray for electrical gremlins!

u gonna use genuine parts on em mate, usually bosch, otherwise they spit their dummies out big style!
