BJ - Marc's '03 sport - winter wheels & tyres - pg16 4/12/12

Bought my BJ in Jan 2007, to replace my BA that got written off by a lorry on a roundabout...

Totally standard car, with lovely garnet red mica paintwork

First on were some clear side repeaters and chrome indicators all round, and then a new rear light unit, so it had a clear rear fog lamp to match the reversing light.

I fitted a nice dvd head unit, and a pair of subwoofers, in the smallest box I could make that fitted nicely...

Thanks to inspiration from errnee, I chose some mazda 6 sport 17" wheels

and then the voices in my head persuaded me to fit a DG motorsports front splitter

Under the bonnet, it's got an Injen cold air induction kit, some nice bonnet lifters, an injen oil cap, and of course the apex1r air divertor panel

I've played with the interior a bit, lost the shiny plastic in favour of soft touch matt black, which matches the speedo cowling better, and fitted a nice ali gearknob...

I also fitted some selectable blue leds, so it can switch from this

to this

So, there she is, pretty much. I guess there's other stuff that's gone on over the last year, mainly thanks to input from members of club323f. you are all stars :thumbleft:

and to answer some of your questions...

errnee - the colour coded grille will be first on, then maybe the rear bumper step protector thingy, but still not sure about that one yet, trying to find a coloured lacquer so it'll match the car, but still show the stainless steel...

protege - nope, it's not lowered, but I bought the springs from Nick last year :lol:

...I'm not lazy, it's just it's sooo low at the front end with the splitter, I'm not sure I can get away with lowering it as well. :dontknow:

ronin - I do like the look of doug's with the blanking plates, but then I also like my fogs, I think they suit the look with the splitter - anyone want to photoshop and prove me wrong? :wink:

And yes, I thought it was a perfect place for one of the stickers - I was going to put it on the strut brace, but then I bought the air diverter panel... :thumbleft:

No need for photoshop...the red car at the meet i went to in toronto had the lip and blanking plates....trust me...it looks even better in the flesh!

Painted the top part of my new grille (thanks Neil :thumbleft:

), managed to get a nice finish on it (even though I say so myself :wink:

) and painted the mazda badge metallic graphite, and managed to get a cr4ppy finish on it :roll:

but it looks good... (excuse the pics, only had my phone on me)

next thing to sort out is the fog lights, not sure whether to keep them or not yet, want to do something a bit different, I'm sure I'll think of something :wink:

Ditto that, my OS one is losing the reflective silver finish, its flaking off inside the light, but I don't know what to do with them. Don't really want to do the fog-delete mod, coz its been done but I can't think of what else to do..... :roll:

I've been looking for a certain kind of fog/spot light, but I can't find them. :sad:

Could be another angel eyes project....

Or use rockblocker overlays for the fogs or yellow JDM Catz fogs?

rockblocker overlay??? Is that the tint kit? If so, that may be my preferred option :thumbleft:

I'm going to tint the fogs black, so I get a similar look to the delete covers, whilst keeping the foggies - although I might need to order some more HIDs, to compensate for the reduction in light output :wink:
