I reckon for it to sit deeper and lower down, you'd just need to buy a longer pipe. The pipe that the actual air filter sits on.

I'm looking at doinf this aswell, just ordered an induction kit and CAF, just need to buy the stuff on this thread to make the top part of the kit.

you can do anything with these pipes, its all trail and error!

Yeah I guess what I need is specific details about length/diameter/angle of the additional pipe(s) that I'll need along with details of the other extra bits and bobs I'll need like jubilee clips, couplers etc.

Thanks Matt - I take it Dai has already done this then? Thought it would have been difficult with the CDA filter as its so big. But I'll have a chat with him when he lets go of the sheep!

the rubber pipe that comes with the cda can be put on the end of the cda and itll face when spun round to where the orginal pipe used to, its what i use to do a sort of spiral to the undertray and then my 45 degree pipe into the vent

as with just a 90 degree pipe + maf + cda i find its like an inch or two from the rad fan that rubber pipe fits perfect!

Being such a top mod this induction system, surely.....could someone design a special decal for its prowess.........?

i wanted to do it and tried, although not very hard, and failed and couldnt be arsed with the hassle

i used a 45 and a 90 with a coupler either side of the maf which extends the cda i fitted just a bit further..... my main problem is that the cda is just to Frikken big

i have spare parts for this (possibly for sle if anyone is interested ) i think one 90 bend and one 45 bend ( it maybe two 90s though) and 3 red couplers and a 1.5m striaght piece haha

you shoudl be able to do it without cutting anypieces depending on the size of the filter....

where are you trying to put it dai?

was trying to put mr cda in the wing area...but the pipes for the air con make it stick out to far and i couldnt get the pipework to line up enough to make them connect without too much effort
i'll get some pics up to show you what i mean

I disagree with you. It is only a tightened part which was already on the vehicle. I have not added any parts or taken anything away. I have just had the cable tightened as it was a little slack So therefore I say

It is still stock

Cant i just add a breather instead of drilling a hole in my induction pipe?

Yep - you want it between the MAF and the throttle body.

It'll probably work wherever it goes but that's where it is normally.

It will cut out because the air isnt travelling passed the intake sensor, therfore not registering any of the air it takes in and not injecting fuel, and no fuel equals No go

It will inject fuel still, it wont idle, it will run if you hit some gas but no idle, as its the idle air intake sensor.

but yes your rite it needs air going passed it to idle/run.

interesting, i havent bought the pipes yet but just wondering the bend closest to the throttle body is that the 90 degree bend or the 45 degree bend?
