However, checking the rear suspension top mounts (thanks for the reminder HMT Chris )

Both mounts are F'ed
there is also a rust hole in the inner arch top as well



New ones are on order,
I am still hopeful to have her back in time for Christmas, ready for me to re-assemble and play with my Meguiar's.

Hope you get her back before Christmas mate, can't wait to see the finished result... before you work your magic with the megs, that is mate

i too hope she is back soon, all there and ready for christmas.....and with getting itchy feet to get at her with the Megs, and the amount of work and detail both yourself and your painter have gone to i predict the word flawless will be used on more than one occasion

The new top mounts arrived and were fitted yesterday, so she should be all ready for painting next week.

Keeping fingers crossed, really can't wait to have her back.

Time for an update,
have been sorting out the garage ready to get the F back
Started out putting up some more tyre and F related adverts:



Finally got round to painting the inside of the garage door with several coats of white paint, really helps the lighting.



Went over to see the F yesterday being painted in the oven, and was able to pop in after John had applied one of the lacquer layers





and the 3 parts of the splitter:



Really, really excited to see her with paint on, she is looking stunning already.

Can't wait to see her flattened back and polished, then get her home for some Meguiar's.

it has been a long time coming, but does seem to be worth the wait

A few more pics taken last Wednesday, the paint has still to be flatted back and polished.

The glass and new windscreen have now been refitted.
Still quite a way to go, not sure about getting her back for Easter Keeping fingers crossed

and the second I tried adjusting the aperture settings, gave a better depth of field and enhanced some of the paint colour.

Sooo clean and shiny car . Wow. So whats happening when you take car that clean in real life on real not clean road?

My F is finally back home, safe and sound on the farm

Time for another update, have been going over the car sorting out what to do first.
The new paint work is stunning, there are a few minor areas for me to sort out, but on the whole very pleased.
I have now cleaned the air filter, fitted a new battery and the newly painted wheels and Yoko tyres.



Yesterday sorted out the upside down boot lock,
then cheered myself up by paint cleaning, machine polishing and waxing the front end of the F and giving her face back.

Today I have started work on the doors, removed the clear membrane,
cleaned up as much black gunk as possible and applying some Dynamat superlite to replace the tatty membrane. more pics to follow.
