earlier than planned, the new front splitter is on.....

Image

Image

there have been issues with it however, but im going to give it a couple of days and see how i feel about it after the weekend :( :(

it may very well end up in the For Sale section, and the v6 splitter being repaired and put back on, its a real shame and very frustrating as ive been after one of these for a while

it doesnt really sit 'right', cant explain it, but you know when something isnt just right?

And doesnt really fit the lines of the car, which i know sounds odd as it was designed speciffically for the BA.

problem is is there are gaps aplenty, mainly in the recess, it sits the best part of 5mm too short on either side, and also bows out a little on the sides too, really really frustrating.
Im going to have another play about with it when it stops raining, but i would guess it will be off later tonight and in the For sale section.....

Ahh well, you cant win them all :?

The love has returned :D

All it needed was a bit of colour coding, a very slight repositioning to even out the gap either side, and some cunning angles to cast the gaps into shadow, yes they are still there, but only down to 5mm either side now.

Image

Safe to say its not heading for the For Sale section :D 8)

Cheers Ayrton, i think the angles draw the eye away from the gaps, think all of it matt black was just too much

That does look really cool! Agree, I think it really suits the car. The colour-coded splitter sets it off as well 8)

Cheers Marc :), ive got a mazdaspeed sticker on there for the moment, if inspiration strikes me at some point ill give you a shout, i was kind of thinking of something similar to the 'sports mind' one you did for Dale a while back.

Finally fitted my clear fog light too.....nice n easy job, only taken me a month....ha ha ha

also discovered that not only did our local council build us a brand new leisure centre, they included an underground car park too......

Image

would have been rude not to take a pic or two :D ;)

why thank you :D , seeing how very easy it was to take the fog light housing apart with just some boiling water, im off to get some orange indicator bulbs for the front, and im going to de-tango the front indicators/sidelights...

Don't go to all that hassle, and then fit orange bulbs! Buy Philips silver vision bulbs, so you don't see any orange until they are lit. Yes, there are cheaper ones, but the philips are nice and bright, the others I've seen use a cheaper thicker coating...
