Wow that's a very large picture!

Well... nothing new... Only changed the gearbox, complete right transmition and changed the engine oil, gearbox oil, hydraulic steering oil and the oil filter. On the next days I'll clean the BMC CDA and change the old and damaged rear engine mount for a "new" reinforced engine mount.

So... As I don't have pics to show you, I leave you new videos I've made on the last few days. Hope you like it.

Well... I've some news!

On 30th of November I'll go to a TrackDay on International Autodrome of Algarve (Autódromo Internacional do Algarve) on Portimão.
7 x 20 minutes, so, I've spend some money on improvements.



EBC Turbo Grooved discs = 118,80€
EBC Yellow Stuff pads = 62,90€
Braided Goodridge Brake Hoses = 76,45€
Motul Racing Brake Fluid 600 DOT4 (1L) = 30,40€
Pads fixing kit = 11,08€
Calipers repair Kit = 47,32€

TOTAL = 346,95€




OMP Helmet = 93€




A friend of mine offer me 3 used Toyo R888 in 195/50 R15 (GG [medium] compound) to put on rear wheels




2 new Toyo R888 in 195/50 R15 (GG [medium] compound) to put on front wheels = 241,99€




OZ Racing F1 15" x 7J with ET37 (80€... yes, only 80€ :mrgreen:)... they're on a wheels garage to repair and paint with a light dark grey and put new OZ Racing F1 stickers before coat (more 160€ + 17€ for 0,5L of metalic grey + 15€ for stickers).


I've changed all of my seats for seats of a 323F BA GT with 80K Km... they are in very very good condition
Have bought used aluminium OZ F1 Spigot Rings (15€) and put a used but reinforced by me, rear engine mount and a new CV Joint Outer Kit (150€).

Next step is put the Toyo tires on OZ's, calibrate and align the direction (~20€)

So... ~1.140,00€ spent and on September have payed 110€ for the trackday and will need more ~150 for 98 octanes gasoline.



But no problem! I am very excited! Can't wait for Saturday!

Those are some propper upgrades!

Yesterday, her had a exemplary behavior on Algarve Circuit @ Portugal.
Only need more power to have a best acceleration in exit of corners, but brakes very very good and the grip was soberb!

Well... Last Sunday, was day of Trackday. It's my and of my Mazda's first time on Estoril Circuit... where Ayrton Senna was champion on its first time in 1985

Love this track and the car, as always, had an excelent behavior
The car was really really good on track. Only need more power, because the Z5 engine was slow on exit of the corners, where we need quickly a good increase of speed but okay... It's a thing to resolve on the next years I wish! :P

On the first two vídeos, the pressure of the tires was not the best, as the hardness on rear coilovers, so the car slide a litle bit on the front wheels

An half of my EBC YellowStuff Pads have melted on 163km of trackday
Need to swap these brakes for the V6 ones or something like, and create a good brake ducts to improve the cooling of discs and pads

Nothing new until my last post here.
It was good as always with some tracks made and the normal daily use.
Have at the moment >290 K km on the clock

But now, it's time to leave trackdays with this car and use it only for daily drive.
Have bought a Mazda 323F GT (2.0 V6) for track use
Will open a thread for him.

Here you have one pic of the last trackday on Kart track of Fatima, Portugal.

Another trackday last Sunday

Have new tires on the front wheels (Yokohama Advan A048 M) and have tested a new alignment set up
I'm very happy with this litle BA 1.5... Has made 1:00.58 minutes on the best lap and was the 2nd best time at the day (in a total of 13 cars). The best lap was from the MX5 NB mk2.5 1.8 with VVT and makes 0:58.** minutes. Only 2sec faster! :P

Well... it's time for an update.

Unfortunatelly, I've had an accident with my 323F BA 2.0 V6 that I've bought on 2016 January.
After some mechanics tell me that I have to spend a lot of money to repair it (~2500€ with paintwork included), I've decided to swap all the V6 parts to my 323F BA 1.5.

A friend of mine with a garage, offer me a space in his garage and tools to do the swap.
I've spent a lot of time to do the job (~ 3-4weeks) because I do all of that alone, but the results make me forget all the days lost working on the car

When my 323F's arrived to the garage:

Most of the interior parts have been instaled, including the Air-Con and Air-Bags (1.5 doesn't have that)

As a small amount of people know, 323F's manufactured between 1994 and July of 1995, came with a button on the reflector panel to open the boot and 323F's manufactured after this period, came with a button on the interior, next to the driver seat to open the boot.
My 323F 1.5 are manufactured in June of 1995 and my 323F 2.0 are manufactured in September of 1996 so, I've adapted the interior button to open the boot from my V6 to the 323F 1.5 and now, it's possible to open the boot inside and outside of the car without the key!

Difference between the buttons...




The idea on this pic is to verify that only have one cable came from the front of the car to the boot. This cable open the cover (?) of the gas tank.




One more time, I was surprised! Japanese guys thinks in everything!
The gate of the boot came prepared to fit the cable as in 323F's manufactured after July of 1996




Here you can see two cables comming from the front of the car. One for the gas tank cover and the other one from the boot gate




Water tank of the rear window was replaced because the water tank from the V6 have the electric pump in good condition




The aerial and his electric engine was replaced too.

One problem that wasn't noticed before...
One coilover was damaged on the accident.






I don't know if gas pump are different in the 1.5 and 2.0 but as I don't know, I've changed it. They look similar but have different part number

Difference between side braces that go from the midle of the car to the rear hub carriers (1.5 vs. 2.0)
As you can see, V6 braces are a lot more solid than braces from 1.5






Difference between handbrake cables (1.5 vs. 2.0)
They are different because 1.5 have drum brakes on the rear while 2.0 have disc brakes.

Some brand new mazda parts




So... let's check some important notes on AutoData






Removed the first valve cover and the heads have a nice look... don't you agree?




Replaced all gaskets, lets compare KF with Z5 engine dimensions! :P In that moment, my mazda are waiting for the KF engine!



Throtle body was cleaned.




Finally... the oils for gearbox and steering rack arrived!




Fuel filter... no, I'm not wrong...
Some Kia has the same part number for the fuel filter (are the same filter) and as in Mazda it costs around 80€ and on Kia around 25€... I've bought the same OEM filter for a much better price!




As you can see... they're the equal! :P




When I removed the heatshield of rear exhaust manifold, I've noticed a very big fissure on the manifold. So... as I don't had money to spent on a brand new exhaust headers and a complete exhaust, I've repaired it as you can see.




Time to put the engine on the car! Finally!




The intake pipe is torn so, have bought a new one on Mazda... 80€




In the end of the day, some panels are on his places!

Meanwhile, I remember that I can use the protection of the hood (don't know the name in english :s) that I have from my original V6 to have a better finish and isolation




2 brand new pieces that I don't know the name in english ahah... but they remove the gap we feel on the knob, you know?




Here are the original pieces totally destroyed...




Brakes... I could use front Goodridge hoses from my 1.5 brakes but have to do new hoses for the rear brakes because, as you know, 1.5 have drum brakes on the rear and 2.0, discs so, the hoses are different.
