i bought them at an Austrian tuning shop, but you might find them on ebay as well.

Oh, that's just because of the camera flash, i didn't even had the ignition on when i took this pic

my clock is rather turquoise though, little modification of the standard clock (i took out the green plate behind it).

well a new year has started and i was bored, that's why i decided to clean up this thread a bit. So big update in the first post :lol:

added many pics of the work done on her before she got the new paintwork and summarised all after that.
oh and did i already say that i was bored :lol:

some good and bad news...
bad news first - my beloved carbon rear panel is ruined

it started last summer when she stood a few hours in the sun... the hot temperature appearantly caused the carbon to strech out hence it pulled off:

i then pulled of the whole carbon layer and tried to stick it on with windscreen adhesive but that didn't work... by pulling it off i caused little cracks which can't be polished out and yea... it looks horrible now, unrepairable.
The good news at this point - i gave one spare panel to my brother who works with carbon (they do f.e. the carbon parts for the BMW M3) and he'll either create the whole thing from carbon or, if this won't work, he'll carbon layer the panel but in a professional way.
The in-between solution until i get the new carbon panel is to paint another panel in titanium grey like my interior parts, which are one of the positive updates:
fillered and sanded:

already fitted them but haven't done pics so far, but pics will follow.

also painted the rear roof panel in glossy black but not fitted it yet.

Such a pity about the rear panel. If your brother manages to make one out of carbon fibre could you find out a price for him to make me one as well.

indeed, it's always the things i like the most which make me problems.
I'll see what i can do. I gave him the panel in November and the only thing i heard from him a few months ago was that the first try had gone wrong. Haven't heard anything from him since that, but hopefully i get some news about it in May.

well... i can imagine that there would be a few interests but i can't promise he'll do some more i'm afraid. But as i said above - it's not even sure if it will be possible at all. But if it is, i'll ask him how many he could do.

last Friday we began to strip the 1.8 - well, mainly Roland (Blue Flame) began with it as i haven't got a clue about engine and technical things. I just stripped the doors, took off mirrors and flutes and those little things :roll:

well, the 1.8 really doesn't make it easy for us.

was a pain in the a** and took ages to get this damn "driveshaft joint" out (hope that's the right word in english)

we just don't get this damn thing out... any ideas? Do i need the driveshaft or "driveshaft joints" of the 1.8 for the conversion or does the 1.5 has the same?

if you are putting a 1.8 into a 1.5 use the driveshaft and the hub carriers from the 1.8

you'll need the driveshafts from the 1.8

and the 1.8 has slightly bigger discs than the 1.5 :thumbright:

Easier (for now) to just move the whole lot over from the 1.8

Might be an issue in the future with CV boots though.......
