Phase 2 button is down near the handbrake (go figure) and I think the phase 1 is on the dash to the right of the wheel

Don't think so, it's all part of the braking system, maybe if you shut the ABS off?

You can turn off the traction control, well, really it should be part of your start up routine :evil4: but the DSC stays on...doesn't cause any problems, so I've never wanted to turn it off... ;)

I'm all over the tcs button on startup :D

Guess i'll just have to live with the dsc, can't see a button for it to the right of the steering wheel.

Cheers anyways :)

Hello! bringing up old thread instead of making new one. There is a way of disabling the DSC while keeping the ABS on. Tested today but only for few moments to prove my theory.

The DSC needs the Yaw Rate Sensor to work properly so by disconnecting it the DSC is disabled. The TSC off and the skidding car light will come on on your dashboard but they shut down after I reconnected the sensor again.

The sensor is located under the steering column on the left side on LHD car, no disassembling required.

Please be aware that this solution should used on closed roads only! Tested only on one lap at gravel parking lot.

The always active DSC was my second concern with my car besides the rust so I am really happy that I could sort this one.

Drive safe

Jiri

Don't know if the same is possible for the BJ Sport or not, but on the Mazda 3 MPS some people fit a SWAS switch (Steering Wheel Angle Sensor).

When the SWAS is disconnected on the MPS then traction control, DSC and the torque limiter are all disabled.

has probably the same effect, the DSC unit evaluates signals from different sensors as the yaw rate, steering wheel position and also the ABS sensor signals from the wheels. I wanted to keep the ABS still working so searched for another way. The yaw sensor was my first bet and as an bonus there is no need to pull the steering column apart.
Thanks for the input anyway!
