FINALLY!!
Yesterday the DVLA sent through the new V5C with the correct engine code on etc.
only taken 4-5 months!!

phoned them up they told me which one they had on their records and which one to bin... :roll:

rekon mallory park would be a good venue for a proper like dedicated track day..... really like that track! might be worth looking into..... or maybe see when they hold a open track day lol

Stupid idea maybee...

Couldn't we do a general 323F club trackday, maybee someday that we Dutch could also come over? Our club
is too small over here to do so on our 2 major racetracks. Perhaps on some smaller 'airfield' tracks in de UK???

Could have our own mini time attack... and then have kingsley come over and trash all of us with 20 seconds off... :lol:

if that is the case then it would have to be one of the tracks in the south east but definitely will be up for it when the car is on the road again

We have been looking at the Mazda on track company as they also offer driver tutition!

To do it properly we would probably have to plan it for this time next year or the very end of the season to ensure all have the funds and means to attend. A track with lap timing would be awesome too!

The return of the pudding bowl!

Hi guys, some of the long standing members here will remember our original cold air feed using a Christmas pudding bowl as a scoop.
Just found the original topic… only 7 years old now :oops:

After Japfest 2 last year we decided we needed some sort of brake ducting was needed to cool the brakes as we suffered from brake fade.

We’ve be thinking about it for a while now and at Christmas we found a new scoop! A slightly smaller version of the original!
Sunday was the day to actually do something!
We squashed the bowl in the hope it would be less likely to catch on speed bumps etc, only time will tell!

Whether or not these ducts will do anything is another question

I guess the proof is in the pudding… bowl… :lol:

hi guys,
we had a small oil leak seeping through the bell housing and engine, we decided it was the crank shaft oil seal so we decided to pull the engine out and sort it before the show season and track sessions

There is hardly any friction material left on the clutch! the rivets have just been skimmed

Bits to buy:
pilot bearing for flywheel
flywheel
thrust bearing
Uprated Clutch kit

all to be done before Japfest

How is your brake system ? What parts did you use (fluid, brakelines, pads etc, I see ebc discs and greenstuff, should be good) ?
I don't seem the understand why you need cooling for the brakes to get rid of the fading. Maybe it's something else.

Its Subaru Legacy calipers not sure if they have issues with over heating :S
Greenstuff pads and EBC discs

Right we need:
Mazda 323F GTR Flywheel
Exedy FMK-6892HDB (Ø230mm) OR MZK-6548HDB (Ø225mm) clutch kit

What type of fluid do you use? Maybe, if not used, you should go to DOT5.1. Handles the heat more than DOT4

Why the GTR flywheel ? A normal BP-GT flywheel should fit easily.

We're using Castrol React Performance Dot 4

don't know if the GTR is an uprated version... plus theres one for sale brand new which im going to look at tonight

new hotness:

pig of a job involved dropping the front subframe! :shock:

thought it was worthwhile doing it while the engine was out

On the clutch front we going to fit MX5 flywheel and Clutch kit
