Thomas – saying something is shit is fine, if you back it up by saying why its so.

Perhaps a ‘WOW, don’t like that’ or ‘its not up my street’ of a comment

thomas14111983, Thankyou, im sure your 1.5 vehicle is amazing aswell :) Hate on looser.

Yeah spec savers would have worked a treat on the motorway! Reason why i wasnt looking at my instrument cluster is because it was a motorway, crusing... at 110kmph... had it been street driving i would have noticed long before.

People. really. Warriors

Anywhoo. Long time no post.

I still have my 323, im currently performing and engine swap.
Going from kfde to kfze type r motor.

sourced another hardtop which i pulled the motor from, now im in the process of swapping a few things over like gaskets etc. My astina is looking a bit sad atm... but she will be all sorted when new motor is in...

the rear engine mount? no.. its just real awkwardly wedges between the firewall and the steering rack... cant fit anything in there to loosen it free.

BillyBoy, Cheers mate.
Apologies for the assumption!

It would appear from removal of all my components, the contributor to the excessive water loss and overheating was caused by the radiator as it has splits all down the side tanks and a lot of residue from coolant. Not to worry as the hardtop has a new radiator in it though :) Which is excellent.

So!

Ordered some more bits for the astina...

Can tick off
rear engine mount
drivers side mount
front mount
steering tie rod ends (don't like to keep thread on removal apparently)

Out of both cars only the gearbox side mount was salvageable... everything else was showing signs of wear, cracking or just completely f'ed. (i.e rear mounts and drivers mount)

My garage looks like hiroshima in the 40's. Sht everywhere. Cant figure out how that happened... but it did!

Also struggling something fierce to get my old rear mount out of the bay... will have to rearrange my car stands.. looks like i need to drop the subframe to get to the bolts... agghhhh. Worst positioned engine mount ever...

Ill share some pics shortly will some general pictures/mess.

So today got the rear engine mount done! f*** yes... such a pain in the a**e!

Not long to go now...

Looking a bit fresher...

Painted rocker covers, cleaned intake, clean block, head and gearbox, redid rocker cover gaskets!

So my shifter bush set arrived in the mail from Qford today.

Should be able to get everything together tonight, hopefully get it running, have all the bits and pieces to make her work, a mate coming round a bit later this arvo and hopefully all smiles!

Only issue with the whole thing is that the compressor for AC is different from the hardtop to my hatch, so the AC lines in the hatch dont match up and fit the new motor... rather then switch the compressor (because the on my astina was rooted) im going to just get the lines sorted when i eventually take the car to get a regas.

Left in the wake of the swap, ill need to get the guards rolled, car fully aligned, the car detailed, my tyres swapped, and some coilovers in the not too distant future till i can sit back with a bev and be happy!

Its been a really slow week of progress, lots of hiccups but she runs, she's blended, and the last thing to do before wheel alignment is to change the drive shaft seal passenger side, as it was damaged in the process of removing the cv's from the hardtop.
