There should be a rubber gromet in the engine bay on the drivers side which when popped out leaves a big enough hole to fit a 4AWG cable. Then run the cable down the side of the car under the plastic trim to the boot.

I've ordered a shark fin aerial off ebay for £7. Clicky
I know of people who have said radio reception is not as good with them but I don't really care about that, I only want it for looks as I have a 16gb mini usb stick plugged into my headunit :D

While driving last night one of the ballasts for my HIDs packed in (confirmed it was the ballast and not the bulb or wiring harness by switching them all around). So now I have 1 HID and 1 standard yellow bulb :(.

Going to try and see if I got any warranty with them and if so contact the seller. Otherwise I'm going to have to try and get a new ballast or conversion kit.

^ The strut bar I bought carefully balanced on top of the struts lol. I need to get some new nuts and bolts for it as it came without the nuts to secure the bar to the brackets. I'm going to end up re-painting the strut bar blue or black at some point.

Also you can see my custom made air filter bracket  and the uber cool "Rust-Effect" on the exhaust header

Only problem with it is because of the slight slope of the roof there is a small gap which water can get in under. So it's off the car until I get the roof vinyl wrapped and then it's getting glued to the roof with mastic or silicone.

Done a few little bits so far this week while I've been off work.

Fitted some of the hose covers which I bought from rocs store during the free P&P :thumbleft:

and removed the old bonnet stand and fitted chrome look bonnet lifters 8)
Also fitted the strut bar I bought, sanded down the brackets as they had a little surface rust & bubbling paint.
It didn't come with the nuts to secure the strut bar to the brackets so I also had to cut the welded bolts threads, drill them out and fit new ones because no standard nuts don't seamed to fit them.

Done the first bit of fabric dying starting with the parcel shelf. Here it is hanging from the garage roof drying.

That's how mine was fitted. It's a major problem now I've replaced the tailgate and I need to remove it from the old one, along with my spoiler. :(

I know it says VW Golf but it's a universal kit. You just need to drill some holes to attach the bolts to.
Just measure where your making the holes first and that the bonnet lifters will compress into the distance between the two mounting points and won't get stuck in the bonnet hinges. The bolts and screws have ball joints on the ends of them which the lifters clip onto. I measured and marked out drill points with a white board pen before drilling any holes and then wiped off the marks after.

The other BJ is my mothers, that one stays unmodified (I'm not allowed near it with a ratchet set lol). Hers is a post-facelift and mines the pre-facelift.

[rant]Import VAT is a joke. £30 import VAT and to take the piss a £15 handling charge (So £45 just to get it out the parcel force depot) and I went to collect the item myself from them :angryfire: [/rant]

Will it even fit the 1.5 BJ? Thought they only did it for the 2.0?

The 1.5 only has one sensor so no need for an o2 cheat.

The 1.6 exhaust manifold has the same engine fittings as the 1.5 but the cats different on the 1.5 so either need to get the cat modified, get the rest of the exhaust from a 1.6 or bodge job it .

I've bodged it together with some brackets I made for now and I'm looking to find a cat and rear section of a 1.6 exhaust and modify that to fit, as mine is all very rusty.

The parrot CK3000 bluetooth kit I ordered arrived a couple of days ago. As soon as I got it I took it to bits so I could mod it to work with my existing sound system in the car.

As I have none of the stock speaker cabling connected I first needed to remove the existing wiring loom connectors from the board.

Gonna have to unsolder all these :|

Now with them de-soldered I put heat shrink tubing on the vibe high level input connector and soldered that to the board instead.

My poor soldering skills showing (haven't used the soldering iron for a while)

And da-dun, it all boxed back up with the new connector soldered on.

Once I've mounted the bluetooth kit in the boot of the car with the amps I'll take a picture of it. I next need to make an extension for the remote control cable so I can control it from the front and run a mute cable to the back of my headunit.

Had a new two line style front number plate made up and I've mounted it in the grill curb side.

Here is the bracket I made attached to the bumper.

The front view of the bumper.

And with the bumper back on the car.

I still need to get some body filler to fill in the old number plate mounting holes and repaint the front bumper.

Are you going to smooth the original bumper location when you get the filler out?

That is the plan but I can see it going horribly wrong lol I know I have a lack of patients and will probably mess it up, long hours out in the cold garage hardly help.

Would it be ok to use the car with unpainted body filler on the bumper?

nope, the filler will absorb moisture, and you'll get reactions when you paint it...if you give it a coat of primer you should be ok though ;)
