I havent been over 2500rpm yet but it definitely has more torque. Was able to go up a hill in 5th at 1500rpm and didnt have to change down and was able to hold 1500rpm without dying slowly. Will find out about top end when i get my pulley i have been waiting for

About time! Glad to hear you noticed the results backing up this mod as a genuine performance gain for the V6. I have been working on that V6 this past 2 weeks fitting new valve seals for the new owner. Coil setup still working spot on from when I fitted it.

It was going through half a litre a week. Oddly though the problem was the front bank judging by the condition of the spark plugs. The rear plugs were clean, and the front set were covered in white/brown thick deposits. To save money I just did the fronts seals without removing the head.

What tool did u use for this? doing valve seals and no taking the head off would be great ive only got the massive spring compressor that only works with the head off

one of these?

Ah ok. like the diagram then. The middle one on the little plug should be your tach signal from the coil then. Reading that topic thread, It looks more complicated then as they talk about putting in a resistor to prevent the rev counter from being killed. I never had that problem as I only had the 2 wires.

i should be able to get some sort of signal from that wire using a voltmeter or something?

i do need an answer on this one ;)

Yes, I filled the cyl with washing line at BDC then compressed it to stop valves dropping.

No I made one myself, short piece of steel bar hook at one end and a compression head (off a valve spring compressor) a few inches away. Bit of a whack the keepers come lose under compression.

Sorry for delay. I've been off pc for 1 month. I'm afraid electrics are not my strong point but I'm sure someone should know

so i've figured out what wire does what from the 3-wire plug

however, i still need to find the correct wire from the 6-wire plug. i could just place the plug in the same way as on the picture and take the top wire but i'm looking for a bit more reassurance.

could anyone tell me what reading i should get from the wire that i need? is it a constant voltage, fluctuating voltage, etc etc?

Autodata says that the voltage between that particular wire and ground should be "battery voltage". is that correct? it seems a bit easy to me as there are loads of wires with battery voltage...

the manual states that that particular wire should be the "Ignition control module ecu trigger" wire. i recon this should be a fluctuating voltage of some sort.

what exactly should that wire do?

Hello guys. It's hard to get the parts shipped to Romania at a decent price for me.

I have an old working coil from a Lada Niva. It was actually on a Dacia 1310 but the code on it sends me to this:

https://goo.gl/3jwYf0 (ebay link)

Well mine's black but it looks just like the MSD Blaster Coil 2. I know it might not be as high performance, but I just want to fix my car problem here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60061 (long thread but you can read first post)

Also, the HEI module... Will these work ?

http://www.autodoc24.ro/mapco/2040364

http://www.epiesa.ro/comutator-aprinder ... a-1215252/

They both look the same, I'd rather take the cheaper one as I can't guarantee it will fix my problem.

Third question and last...

Any way of doing the mod without modifying and cutting the distributor ? I have a spare cap I'd rather cut, but I've seen at MX6 video I think someone just unplugging a little metal clip in the distributor.

So will that coil and that ignition module work ? And can I do the mod without cutting the distributor ?

Please help ! :D

And thanks !!!
