I received my Street unit rings today from
www.streetunit.com , So I decided to do a guide for removing the Instrument cluster and for fitting the rings…..
Tools needed..
2. Philips screw drivers. One short (stubby)
Flat head screw driver
Street rings
Glue spots
Heat gun / Hair dryer
1. Drop the steering wheel down to make the removal of the cluster easier
2. Undo two screws on the to of the plastic cluster surround ( easier with the short Philips driver)

3. Pull off the plastic cluster surround, there are two clips at the bottom, either side of the surround so a strong pull is needed. From the sides not the top!!
4. You should now see 3 screws holding the Instrument cluster in place, 1 at the top and two at the bottom, undo them.

5.Now tip the Instrument cluster forward, ( from the top). You will see a metal bracket with a gold screw, undo this..

6. Now heres the fun bit…NOT!!
There are 3 wire harness plugs on top of the cluster, Using the flat headed screw driver, press the tab in the middle of the plug and prise them out. No.3 in the picture was very tight! GODZOOKS this thing really pissed me off!!

7. Remove the cluster from the car and wipe your brow! GOOD JOB
8. Now we need to remove the plastic cover.
There are 5 clips, 2 at the top, 3 at the bottom. These clips can be pushed out with you thumb.
Start with the 2 top clips and the three at the bottom. You might need to use the flat headed driver to GENTLY prise the clear plastic cover away from the cluster.

Fitting the Rings - Yahoooooooooooo
9.Clean the outer part of the gauges ( the bit where the new rings will sit) I use a little brake cleaner and a cloth but I guess any cleaner will do..
10.With the heat gun/Hair dryer gently warm up the surface, One gauge ring surface at a time . NOT mad hot so the cluster melts!! Steps 9 & 10 will help the glue spots to stick better…
11. Stick the glue spots to the now clean and warm cluster. I used 4 , 2 top, 2 bottom

12. Remove glue spots backing being cereful not to touch the sticky part.
Again with the heat gun/ hair dryer. GENTLY warm the surface again where the new glue spots are, and place the speed rings to the cluster on the glue spots and press firmly so the glue will hold..
13. Repeat steps 9 - 12 for the other 2 street rings
14. Fit every thing back together, Fitting is the reverse of removal……..
15. Sit back in the drivers seat and admire your hard work..
Fantastico!!
