I've decided I need a new battery. I hadn't started the Type-R since Sunday and it struggled to turn over this morning. It did start but power was audibly lacking.

I did a search but couldn't really find anything that answers my question.

Batteries weigh 17kg and I know you can get get much smaller and lighter (6kg) ones. I don;t suppose they're suitable for a V6?

I'd love something a bit lighter if possible but if not can anyone recommend a decent battery at a non-earth-shattering price?

Thanks!

Simon.

as long as the CCA ( cold cranking amps ) and the ah ( amp hour ) are the same as your current battery you shoudln't have a problem.

Out of interest... what is the CCA for a V6? And if anyone knows, what is the CCA that a 1.5 *should* have?

Cheers :) Sorry to hijack a bit Si.

My old Exide battery was something like 540cca, the new err forget the name is 420. My dad sourced it from a place we normally go to and the guy said that should be the one but I'm dubious seeing how poorly it starts after a few days.
