Hi there,

Bought an 03 323 Sport back in Aug and its been great so far. Also came across this site and found a few great pieces of advice so thought I would register as it seems like a great resource.

Anyway, my remote key fob stopped working the other day and so I replaced the battery as assumed it was dead. However, with a new battery the fob doesnt seem to work so not sure if that was the issue in the first place.

Anyone have any ideas? Internals of fob look fine and I opened it up carefully. I've seen a few threads about re-programming a remote. Is this necessary after replacing the battery?

Cheers
Elliot

So potentially a knackered remote then?

TBH, I would't know, but it can't hurt to try a reset.

Mmm... tried the instructions on re-programming (here viewtopic.php?t=22700) but nothing was happening.

The part I'm stuck on is the drivers side door switch. Anyone know what this is on the BJ model??

Sounds like either the battery had been dead for a while, or you took too long to replace it ;)

Just like some smart TV remotes (i.e. the Sky remote) can loose their settings if they have no power for an extended period.

A couple of days. Thought the battery would be easy to find in the supermarkets but no :)

Cheers marcs. Feels great when you can sort something yourself with the help of others.
