I was going to make a guide but there's barely a difference between the BG process of lowering and the BA process.

Huge thanks to Jason who kindly donated his time and effort. We did the rears on Saturday afternoon and the fronts on Sunday morning. There were no knocking, clunking or creaking noises of any sort when I did the first test drive and it looks 10 times better!

No one told me that the fronts would be such a pain in the ar$e! I would advise anyone thinking of doing it to recruit a helper because it's not particularly easy for one man! If you've got help, tools and non seized bolts it'll be a whole lot easier.

One of my top mounts went as I tried to undo the nut on top of it. Luckily I hade 4 spares from 2 breakers to chose from!

Have you painted your n/s/f wing without lacquer?

Nah... the previous owner dented it (along with bonnet and front bumper) but was kind enough to include this poorly painted wing when I bought the car. I say poorly painted but it's not. It's professionally painted. Just the colour match is horrible. I've been looking for a replacement in rust free condition for ages. The plan is to buy Scott's!

Looks cracking Simon, as Marc helpfully said in my post everytime you drive it you will notice it a bit lower everytime mate. However yours looks pretty low already possibly because the springs were fitted on Tad before.

Looks good mate, I also fitted secondhand springs and it sat low straight away and didn't really change. Spax springs definitely feel great though!

Yea I always wanted to do it with a set of second hand springs. I don't have 2 weeks to wait for results!

Unfortunately the whole job was done without the use of the angle drinder. Gutted! I didn't even need the spare drop links I bought because the old ones weren't seized.

By the way.. last week when I had the front wheels off (and the brakes in a million pieces ) I wire brushed and WD-40'd pretty much every nut and bolt that I might ever need to remove. It made a huge difference. The front bolts were much easier than the rears to remove.

Always a good idea - preparation is the key

I try and get in with plusgas and a wire brush a week or so before I intend to remove a nut etc - it can make all the difference

Yeah exactly what i did when i done mine. Got the old wirebrush on the drill and cleaned the droplinks up and the nuts came off so easy!

Yea heaps. But then again I was on a bus! Saving a shedload of cash with my bus pass! Still got silent speed bump riding in the Type-R. Even tested it over the speed bumps at the beach after I dropped you off yesterday and went over no problem.

The only noises I now get from the lowered suspension is from me, shouting "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW" as I chuck it round another corner
