That was a factory item, unfortunately the last owner broke it and glued it back together so it didn't look so good on the passenger side. So I removed it. Might put it back on just for winter along with the sunroof deflector.

Just saw this thread, lovely car & colour very deep blue looks bit different to european blue paint work, i always wondered whats the performance stats of these US/Canadian 323F / protege5 ? also notice lot of US/canada ones got them side indicators on the front fenders are these custom fitted & working ? since most cars over your part of the world dont have these side indicators.....

I don't think they're indicators mate, but daytime side markers or sidelights.
I don't think USA/Canada models have the small sidelights in the front light cluster, although I may be wrong on that one.

Those polished rims look stunning, considering they're just the standard P5 rims.

I know what them orange bit on the sides of the front bumpers are im talking about them clear oval ones nxt to the front doors, ones that we call side indicators/repeators, there not usually found on USDM/canada cars jst notice some USDM/canada ones with them & curious if they were standard fitment on them??

Ok the orange side bumper lights are just a running light, no blinking but the clear fender side lamps are blinkers ( but orange bulb with a clear lens)and only found on the US/CDN 2003 Protege 5. Also the CDN 2003 Protege 5 sports black headlights ( US did not get this and they are expensive to buy ) and they all have the blinkers inside the headlight like most. But we do not get the rear fog light in our tails at all, too bad and no option for factory HID.

Firstly my paint is called Starry or Laser blue, and my particular car is a GT-SE, it came with a polished set of 16's and full leather and carbon fiber trim (look-a-like) but in the horsepower range we lack. We get everything detuned no matter what make or model, really sucks. The Protege 5's are all 130hp, they make snowmobiles with more horsepower. lol

I have no idea why it took so long for CDN/US to realize how valuable having that side marker blinker, it really makes a difference and Euros have had them forever. I actually bought this year just to get that light, how pathetic am I. lol

Think we started getting the side repeaters on our cars in 1986.

Have you got a filter on the camera lens?
My car is also Starry blue, but yours just looks so much deeper/wetter/better!!!

This may sound quite stupid but....it never occured to me that the usdm p5's didn't had this until now. I was reading this and was like...what are you talking about?....then I looked it up on google and you were hella right!

You photoshopped the images with color levels right? Or is it a setting on your camera? The color is so deep like Neil F said.

Well the paint does have that deep wet look in real life. There is no post processing other than +3 sharpness in DPP plus I change the Neutral setting to Landscape in DPP which is the Canon software and that does tweak the colors as far as more contrast and saturation but nothing crazy. My B+W 010 Pro filter does actually does eliminate haze so it it produces true colors. But again the paint is like new still and it does look just like the pictures, we may have a slightly different blue, not uncommon.

Plus the Canon 1D sensor produces very beautiful quality colors.

Wheels are Rota Circuit10's - 16x7 +45 and tires are 205/45 16 Yokohama Parada Spec2. I didn't want to fender roll, these fit perfectly.

I can't wait to get my 323 out to TO so I can bring it to meets....shame its still got another 7 years before its eligable for import!

Totally does not make sense if you think about it, what is 7 additional years going to do, what a stupid import law.

Tell me about it...and the only way round it is to get it certified as a racing car....which would mean I could never drive it on the roads! So the long wait it will have to be!

What is that law exactly? Why do you need to wait 7 years??

Is it just garaged in the mean time?

I'm not sure of the exact specifics...but I think its to try and avoid people buying new cars cheaper elsewhere then trying to import them to make a profit. It's something like that anyway! So you arent allowed to import a vehicle under 15 years old unless you can prove it isnt for use on the road - i.e a race car.

So yeah for now its taking up my parents garage
