what size oil breather do i need or how do i measure this as i have read all the way through this post and have a plan in my head of what im going to be doing but this is the only one that i cant figure out

its a 1.5 preford 1995

If it's for the rocker cover, one of those would be fine

this is my slight variation on the intake with a carbon enclosed filter and caf


sounds amazing but still needs some fettling to get the jubilee clip tight enough
not to sure on my air sensor positioning yet but it sounds amazing when starting and stopping the engine
the rocker filter has a high pitched whistle similar to a dump valve also not to sure if that is right but i like it


i have another bracket holding the filter from beneath but couldnt get a good photo of it

also my caf intake as i didnt have the balls for an andym just yet

A hole saw might be a better idea

or a drill and a hacksaw blade like i did. much easier than big nasty power tools that might slip and make a boo boo lol

nahhh eaiest way is to drill a pilot then get the hole saw drill bit out :P job done!

You'd want a bloody big holesaw to fit a genuine AndyM intake

I drilled lots of holes in a circle, then a hacksaw, and then one those flap wheel things that you put in a drill. Worked really well

one point i will make is make sure you check all hosing clips are tightened after a few days i found one had slipped coz i hadnt tightened it properly
i now have some shiny pipework to add soon so pics to follow when i do it

i just done this.. hard bit was making the meduim pipe fit into the big one.. but it is do able

A bit of a bump but does it matter if the maf is connected just after the filter or can it be in the standard position and then the fileter extended further down?

MAF needs to go between filter and throttle body! It will work on the other side, but if a stone goes in there it's goodbye MAF.

So cold air intake, into filter, into maf, into throttle, into engine, BOOM, into zorst, into the lungs

Oh yeh I knew that....but usually the maf is right by the filter....basically Ive attached some piping to my Maf to down in the inner wing area and put my cone filter on the end so its right behind the intake I put in my custom bumper....

So basically its all in the same order but there is a longer distance between the maf and filter?

Yeah, but it doesn't necessarily mean a longer distance between the maf and filter. They can be close, with a long cold air intake.

No what i'm saying is mine is setup like that....I had a cold air feed routing upto the airbox before but when you put a cone filter there it gives heatsoak so I routed the filter down right behind the Cold air ram I smoothed into my bumper, yet the maf is in its original place.

That won't cause any harm then Worst case is your throttle response would reduce slightly, no big whoop Sounds a bit like mine is at the moment, MAF is near the battery, filter is in the wing. I'll be moving the filter back into the engine bay and enclosing it though soon

I seem to have lost power at the top end, and slightly improved the torque lower down. I want the top end power back, it sucks having nothing after 4krpm

Ah got ya I might just revert back to the airbox....although i'm miffed about wasting the money on piping from bnq lol

i do remember a guy called scott5050 saying with a filter down in the wing he got more torque down low but couldnt get over 105mph

it was dark after fettling with my car today but i did go for a quick drive after cleaning some high temp paint from my face and it did seem a lot torqueier from the quick blast i had...but the noise didn't thrill me like my old setup
