Redline MTL Gearbox oil

The time has come for the BG BPT to go into surgery and ive been on some redline MTL dealers and am completely lost for choice.

Which one do I go for? Is the G series gearbox a synchro mesh or what??
In the a book it says the Gseries range is 75w90w..i think so do i just order that or the 75w90NS?...or the lightweight shockproof or is 75w80w ok???

Also as the gearbox has come from a scrappy there may be a chance of bits of debris inside, any ideas on how to clean one out?? Dont wanna put 60quids worth of MTL in just to change it a few miles later.

im using redline 75-90 heavyweightshock proof i heard that motul is pretty good too only problem is that u cant mix it with others which is pretty annoying.

sorry to disappoint u matt i know its been quite sometime now i show u some more new updates what iv been up 2 lately the main reason being alittle late. but everything is fine now no more issues at the moment and we can all expect to see the gtr very soon. im going to birmingham to see some gtr specialists and the tuning wont take more then 4 weeks so thats a real relief.

murray have u used the RBF 600 from motul?? i heard its really good.

never tried it i currently use Castrol Response Super Dot 4

Lol dont worry bout it Lantis. Sorted now, got the Redline MT90 designed for toyotas nissans and Mazdas rather than Hondas etc, its a little thicker.

These GTR guys in Birmingham, are they the guys that advertise on Ebay?, the 323 specialists If so I need to see them too, when are you going and where bouts dya live?

hey egos_86 why u heading to see them?? im from london thinking about seeing them hopefully in about 1 months time so i should be more or less ready by the time i see them. and yea they the guys advertise on ebay. i remember chatting to a gtr user from japfest or jae cant really remember and he recommended that there was a tuning company specialising in the gtr. so yea they sud hopefully get the job done asap for me

he's going to see them cos he's got a GTX in a BG :thumbright:

as far as I know the gearbox was playing up on it when it was sold....

I want my second gearbox rebuilt and shot peened. They are the only guys who know there stuff with mazdas and I would rather them do all my stuff rather than a scooby or honda tuner! Dya know if they do remapping and tuning. I want my boost set but with a wide band sensor.

There is an mx5 specialist down your way actually who also seems to know his stuff but hes a bit pricey, quoted me £400 to rebuild my head with solid lifters!

What you gettin done anywayz and how comes ur cars not workin now?

The gearbox was actually Fbucked but i got a new one, I just have no idea what condition the new one is in so rebuilding the old so i got somethin to fall back on! Also with it shot peened it should handle over 300bhp!! :badgrin:

egos_86 do u not know what im doing??? heading up there to get the wiring done and a new ecu setup. i was gona take it down to mx5mad.com but iv decided that since they work with GTRs then i rather leave it to them instead.

gona be a very long day that is cos i need to wake up extremely early then get the car towed to get the exhaust system done then afta that straight to the company dont even know how im getting home yet LOL

Well if I do come, if ya pay for my extra petrol to yours and back I prob wouldnt mind taking ya....as long as you know some speed camera free routes hehe

. Whereabouts down south are ya.. (I hate London), and where exactly is the GTR tuners? Seen the thread very impressive, where did ya find an infini gbox, and the TE37s..well just make sure there not on your car when I see you as Ill be gone with em faster than ur ride does 0-60.

I cannot say for definate whether I will be coming due to funds and also I have no idea of the reliabilty of my car yet as I have never driven it

haha yes im Chi what made u wonder so much??? haha anyways i fink iv sorted out a lift so its cool now my mate said he following me up there to check it out. the box is a one off from an IDIOT from malayasia and the wheels from me being super lucky!

but now im actually getting rid of the wheels due to my theory that iv now decided to up the specs to 16" cos i dont think 15" will handle the power of the new engine. the guys are situated in wolverhampton west midlands.

That IDIOT is the one i was going to buy stuff off but my auntie and dad did some research on company checks and couldnt find any record of em in England America or Malaysia and warned me not to have anything to do with him. Their website has an Arizona number in America which no one ever answers and they are basically a scrap yard near where my family live in Malaysia but they ask you to send money to a person not the company VERY fishy. So you did well to actually get the box lol

His name is Edwin and he is a total dickhead! bigtime! hey ben u didnt mention that to me??! otherwise i would have allowed him man! u must of been drunk again and thought u told me lol.

the volks are the lightest rims i have owned up till now too bad that their being sold off now. managed to get about £600 for them. iv manged to find a nice set of 16s for the car but just aint got around to ordering them up yet. kekeke im pretty sure most of you guys here will agree with my choice
