Hi All, just an enquiry, as you know JAE looms closer and we are all after getting our cars looking thier best, and i do too with mine.
As much as i am an amateur but an avid home detailer, i know a better job could be done, sooo
(and this is shamelessly aimed toward Marc S), but anyone who has had this done then please feel free to share thier experiences.
How much would i be looking at for a proper full exterior detail/paint correction etc.
I aim to go to a local professional, when i can find one, but a guideline price would be handy, just so i dont faint when given a quote. But i would expect them to be able to measure the depth of the clearcoat, and describe the steps they would take, clay, compound, paint clean etc. before i would say yes.
Its that white coat syndrome where i dont want to just say yes and be charged the earth.

Place up the road from me starts at £599 for correction.

Our price for correction on a BA, complete with our top (2 year) sealant protection package is half that

Cheers for that one mark, ive been quoted by a local lad to do a full 'mop n polish' for £150 which will take him a day n half to complete..... so not a million miles off what i was possibly thinking.

im unsure though, im selling the car very soon, possibly even before JAE, and im looking to sell in the region of £250 ish......

yes i want the new owner to get a cracking car in all respects, but its a big outlay personally at the moment.......

To be honest, anyone offering a "mop & polish" is not a detailer, and they're likely to do more harm than good. More often than not these guys won't measure the paint, and won't have a selection of products which they'll choose from to suit your paint...they just hit it with a rotary polisher, and can leave a myriad of haze, swirls, and marring - which you'll only find on the next sunny day!

do it yourself mate, spend the time on it, making it look a lot better will increase the screen price...so put the extra profit into your next car

Definitely agree with Marc, also gives you more experience and improves your own skills
