Really good choice of car, looks great.

And you're about my age aren't you chris the insurance must be a bomb?!

And those alloys will look the shit if you brake out some power tools and polish the balls out of them.

I am indeed Paul, I'm 20.

For the standard car, fully comp with myself as the main driver and my parents named, a years no claims, it comes to about £2000.

Which is about the same as a 1.8 BA or mk1 mx5... but I get boost with this one :D

Any why would I want to polish them?! Just from looking at my F you should be able to tell I'm all about the black and white!

2k isn't that bad actually for a 1.8 turbo even with named drivers. And yes the black and white is kind of your thing from what I saw a JAE.

Potentially, i'd be more up for a satin black though... maybe a real carbon bonnet at somepoint down the line!

Do you have any idea how to fit a blow off vavle? Got one of them arriving shortly :D

2k on your insurance?
I'm 22 with only my gf on the policy and mine is half that.
Do you have a bad postcode or do those 2 years i have on you make that much of a big difference?
Insurance will never cease to amaze me!

I think it may do... whats your no claims like?

Mine could be around £200 cheaper, if I was with direct line, but they wont insure me on the S13 until I'm 21!

Have you though of a satin black wrap on the bonnet ???

Comes in quite cheap really. . .

It does, but when you start to factor in stone chips after use, and things like bubbles, as i'd never be able to get it perfect... Professional wrapping is a bit of a rip of I think.

Chris, didnt realise you were quite that young, I truly feel for you when it come to the insurance prices, bloody crazy they are. Can understand why you cant keep both on those grounds.

Agree with Stuz on the wrap, and with warm soapy water the wrap is easily fitted without bubbles, and if you ever change you mind about the black, to change it back is simply remove the wrap (he he - simply !!!! yeah)

Ah 4 years no claims, should be 7 but they won't take into account my 3 years of driving experience in new Zealand!

I should have over 5 years no claims but I only have 1 at the moment as they dont account for the years i was driving in Zim

I had the same problem when I moved here, so had to start all over again, but thankfully have 9years of no claims now, but only counts for the first car, the second is down to no - no claims. Not sure I understand that as I can only drive one at a time ???? But they dont accept that.

So,

Parked outside my girlfriends house Saturday night, a lot of snow fell off the roof...

Bringing with some bits of roof tile...

Onto my windscreen...

Fortunatly that was the only damage, and its a small horse shoe shaped crack, but still enough to warrant a new windscreen. Dammit.

Still, 146000 miles of use, the current windscreen could do with an excuse to replace it

Got lucky there. I should probably go to my mates house and check on mine to make sure it's not been hit by roof tiles. At least it was only a windscreen, and not a body panel.

As soon as I can afford it. Still need to fit the front disks, but I didn't want to do it till I can MOT it so they don't rust.

There's really nothing to it, just can't afford the MOT (Including a new tyre and exhaust center section) then the tax. Hopefully in two weeks I'll get it sorted. Hopefully. But I need to pay for a few parts I've wanted for ever so I may have to push the MOT back till January. (I hate being skint :()

Nah, go to a Duxback dealer - it'll cost you about £30, but you won't need it again for a good 6 months...and it actually works, without all he smearing you get from rainx ;)

Sorry to hear about the damage fella, but like others have said, it could have been worse, could have been the roof...or the bonnet...

Yeah I'd much rather the windscreen than anything else  sucks though, I know how it feels to have your car busted thanks to snow :evil4:

Is your new windscreen free on your insurance I take it?

I wonder how much a BA windscreen would cost...I have a teeeeeny stonechip in mine that keeps me entertained for about 10 minutes when washing the car

Tis indeed thankfully!

Autoglass dont have any windscreens with no tint stip accross the top, so I get one of those too, which could be quite handy this time of year :D
