well, a bit worse than that, the tyre hits the outer arch at the back, so getting it out of the workshop would be a 15 point turn

I will try the smaller tyres on the front, see if that works...otherwise, I might need to rethink the arches completely...

I'd definitely try the smaller tyres, or possibly even move the arch back a bit if that makes sense? so making the arch shape flatter rather than taller? If you can't move the tyre, move the arch

I would of thought you would cut away the inner wing for more clearance once the external arches are on or do you not want to bugger up the wings?

It hits right down the bottom, not somewhere I can cut away really

I'll spend a bit more time over the weekend trying different things...I might try a smaller arch on the front, not sure yet. Trial and error, eventually something will work

Well, after fitting the correct size tyres on the supra wheels, it seems that I don't really need to take the wheels out much further...so for now, I have fitted them without spacers. Unfortunately, mr MOT man doesn't like tyres that protrude further than the bodywork, so I have fitted some small arch extensions. They're not great, but they'll do for a while - a full respray is not an option this year, so I have had to make do with a rattle can and some poor patching up

Still, the side skirts are on, the wheels are all one colour, temporary graphite paint job, and it does look pretty good...from a distance

How did the mot go?

MOT...er, had a few issues

off side rear caliper handbrake siezed...it was ok a few weeks ago Managed to free it up enough for the re-test, but only just, so I'll be looking to get it refurbished at some point soon.

There was also another issue, that was my fault
There is an electric aerial, but the new spoiler doesn't line up with it, so I thought, best disconnect the power to it, just in case (it is powered by a switch on the centre console) - so, I went into the boot, found a red wire that went that way...pulled the connector, cut it back, made it safe...jobs a goodun...

MOT man, he says, there's no foglight..."oh, I took off the foglight, and put it in the off side reversing lamp"... "No" he says "there is nothing"

Yep, you guessed it - I had disconnected the foglight So I had to remake the connections and stuff - and then disconnect the aerial - the other red wire, just next to the one I put in for the foglight


Still, no drama, and it has a years MOT

I took this when I finally got it back from the MOT station to the workshop...weird how the sunlight makes the roof look as silver as the rear spoiler

Nice to have a side on shot though, shows the arch gap is much better now

I know I'm a bit out of date here. But wow this car it comming on.

Still I liked the old rubber, i perticulaly enjoyed running my hands over your rubber at jap fest a few years ago

It had to go though, it was totally kippered, the mountings were (surprise surprise) rusty...and I was lucky enough to get hold of a TWR spoiler at a bargain price...so off it went

New door to be fitted soon, at which point the car will go for painting - so the spoiler will be blue at last

We had a few rubbing issues on the back end, so I got the arch roller out and hopefully fixed the problem




I need to re-fit the arch-lip-extension-thingies next weekend, then we're ready for Rotorstock

Did you have to roll the arches much?

Rolled them until they were...er...rolled


I didn't go all the way so they were totally flat, just left a nice rounded edge - I just hope it's enough!
