Here is my latest offering. I know, I know it looks like a Ford but it's really a Mazda underneath.
I bought this car over a month ago and brought it home on a trailer. It had been stood for over 6 months and needed a lot of TLC. Put it straight in for an MOT to see how bad it was. I got a pleasant surprise. Failed on a double chip windscreen. £185 later and a new screen fitted, I got 12 months MOT.
Then the work started. The engine was making a terrible rattling noise. Turned out to be the Cam Belt Tensioner. Bought one from the USA and fitted it.
Also changed both Rocker Gaskets and the Dizzy o Ring.
New Oil and Filter
Had to fit my 10mm HT leads as the ones on there were rotten. I know blue clashes with the red theme but I don't mind that.
Engine now perfect.
Added Engine bonus includes KLZE Cams, Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel and a Stage 1 Clutch.
Then I started turning it into more of a Mazda.
Front Strut Brace
It has my complete MX6 suspension including the 40mm lowered springs.
Rear Brakes off the MX6
Front Brakes uprated to Mazda 6 Sport Calipers and Discs.
RX8 18" Rims
Stainless Decat fitted
Drove it yesterday properly for the first time and I love it.
Not doing much more in the near future due to funds but I will prob get the windows tinted in the New Year.

Yep Capri replacement indeed. Pity they didn't put the Capri 3.0 L engine in these. Now that was an amazing engine in its day.
Talking of the common immobiliser problem I have that as well. lol.
Every time I open a door the hazard lights flash. When I turn the engine off there was a deafening horn going off. Couldent shut it off without starting engine again.
My semi perm fix was to pull out the horn relay. Simples. I will look at disconecting it all when the good weather returns.
Another minor problem is the bonnet won't stay firmly shut for long. It lifts up and is sitting on the catch. Another thing to sort out when it's warmer.
