For the news, he's wrote me an email. He said he saw his friend will go to the post office "one more time", and if "nothing comes up he will refund me minus the postage"

Tell him it is up to him, as the sender, to get the parts to you. He can claim reimbursement from the post office if they have lost the parts - so you want a full refund, including postage costs.

I have had a call from Jatin telling me that he is trying to reclaim his original payment to Pasquale and once this comes through he will refund my money.
If this happens then I will let you guys know.

crap. i've been scammed by this guy too.

J2K90 contacted me in response to a wanted ad, saying Pasquale (benalauto@gmail.com) had what I was after and to contact him. He even urged me to haggle with him a bit. Several emails later it came to paying



in hindsight, very suspicious. but great communication before and after he had my money. He actually asked me to defer the payment till after the holidays so he can post it.

i've emailed him after reading this (not what you want to see first thing on a monday). What do i do now?

The line you have quoted above re the email address to make payment to clearly shows that this is not all just a misunderstanding as Jatin claims.
I was kinda hoping that it was because I would really like to get my money back...I'm kinda thinking that this is prob never going to happen.
I have passed the new info(above) on to the officer investigating my case and will update you on any more news.

Personally, I think the best thing for anyone who has been affected by this to do would be to contact your local police and give them all of the info on here and if you want the name of the officer dealing with my case to pass on to them just PM me and I will gladly give it to you.
Surely if enough people make a noise about this then some kind of justice will be done.

I dont know if crime numbers are quotable to other forces, but it may be worth contacting your local force, but also to give them kerr's crime number and officer so they can all tie up on this as it seems to be getting larger and probably over multiple forces.....

Tell me if I'm wrong, but it appears 3 people have paid for stuff, and whether its been lost, or not sent in the first place, they are just asking where their stuff is, which is fair enough if they've bloody paid for it.......

The fact that three separate people are asking the same thing gives the overall impression of bad seller, and tbh your couldn't care less attitude replies (or at least that's how they come across!) only reinforces that....

Without actual proof of postage in the first place I don't see why you should loose out on anything mate
Royal Mail aren't infallible I should know, but is extremely unlikely that all these parts, going to different areas, would all go missing!!......

Building up a good rep just to rip off people does not excuse the behaviour, as we found out in the past unfortunately! Its all the more shameful on these people that they betray and take advantage of the good, generous nature of those they rip off ......

good news to everyone who's been scammed. Dont know why i didnt think of it sooner, but if you used a credit/debit card as the payment source for your paypal account, just call up your bank! If you let them know it was fraud, they should give you back the money and in the meanwhile they contact the recipient of the money (ie J2K90), and unless he can prove the item was actually sent, they take the money back (and hopefully prosecute).

i still don't know what turned a reasonable guy so sour, and frankly if he steals my money, ignores my emails, lies to me and refuses to answer my calls - i don't care much.

Unfortunately, my bank wouldn't recall my transaction because PayPal collect my money via a direct debit. The bank just said nothing they can do and to take it up with PayPal. Paypal just said nothing they can do cos I sent it as a gift...I'm still half hoping that Jatin does the right thing and sends me back my money and the other guys theirs. Fingers crossed still!

thats strange... nationwide said they could pay me in 48 hours as apposed to 30 days because i set it up as direct debit! did you mention that this was a fraud, currently being investigated, rather then simply missing items? I think fraud gets special attention.

I did tell them that I was ripped off but, think I will give it another try tomorrow and ask to speak with someone more senior.

I have now referred my case to Action Fraud as I don't seem to be getting anyway fast with the cops.
Two weeks ago Jatin called me to say that he was going to pay me back the money he owes me but, then nothing since and when I have text and called there's been no answer.
Not sure why he bothered to take the time to call me and say he was sending the money when he has no intention to :-/

It could be that he was delaying worry so it extends beyond paypal's claim deadline in case anyone paid as 'goods'. Did you not get anywhere with your bank? Might be worth mentioning that other banks would be happy to help you get your money back for you... They don't like the thought of loosing customers.

Also I noticed J2K90 has a few open for sale topics. Can these be closed?

to the ones that have a Direct Debit set up, the banks can do an indemnity claim against them that does cover this sort of thing....

It costs £100 and files a legal claim against anyone, just fill out the form pay and within 2 days a letter arrives on their door.

TIP: they have a certain date in which to reply to the claim (usually 2 weeks) and which they can counter claim, on your claim on the site you will see a button on the bottom that says "request a judgement"
If the other person has not got his paperwork in by the date set by the court, get up in the morning of that date and click that button if there is no response posted n your claim. If they do not have a written reply and statement by that date they will instantly decide in your favour, you can then apply to a bailiff to recover goods or money after you have the decision sent to you in writing for they full amount, the bailiff will get his money from his charges and hassle the shit out the bloke for the payment in full

Also before making a claim you need written proof you have given him ample opportunities to pay so write to him recorded delivery and get copies of all correspondence ready as you will need to put it in the claim.

could you not all club together and raise the money that way?

I think the 100 fee comes out of the total the bailiff collects from the other person. So instead of just refunding the amount he owes, it could be +£100 for each person that files against him. As well as never being able to get a loan or mortgage from the bank.
