| Post subject: | Central Locking with Remote Control |
Hi All, I just have bought a Mazda 323f in Germany. The car has manual central locking system triggered by a pneumatic pump. In internet I have found couple of key less devices cost around 25€ with key fob and remote control buttons. I want to install it my self, can anyone explain me in detail how to install it ? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME! Greetings from Germany! |

It should be pretty easy. You'll probably find the easiest way is to replace the master unit (driver's door) with the master from the kit, and then power that up. Worst case, you have to replace and rewire the remaining units, but it's highly unlikely. I'm fitting it to my GT pretty soon, I'll try and make some notes

Thank Marc for the reply. Where is the master unit located ? In worst case will not the circuit breaker (fuses) prevent other units to break ? |

If I remember correctly, you need to change something in the drivers door, as this solenoid won't work with a remote system. The drivers door solenoid is opened with the key, and acts as a switch for all the other solenoids, but unlocking the car from the passenger door won't open all the rest. Or something..... Its been a while!

Yep, master is in the drivers door, which is replaced by the one in the kit that accepts the signal from the remote control box. That should be all it takes then

Remote locking alarm system was a dealer option on the BG though, FinishLine alarm system, which I removed from mine when I bought it, as it didn't work. I think it involved a window closure system too. I had a locking system with my alarm, but I could never get it to work. Came very close, but I ended up abandoning the idea and just using the key!

I intend to fit a kit to our GT one weekend over the winter, so I'll have a crack at it and do a write up. The lock on ours seems a bit hit and miss, so remote locking seems like the best option
